Heartbreaking to read such tragic outcomes.
Financial literacy (or lack thereof) does not come automatically. It affects people who come from all backgrounds. Maybe each state's boxing commission should require a minimum level of finance management training to get a boxing license.

Some jackazzez on here have a low level of humanity. They've lost their human empathy. Don't go blaming a victim or judging this man.Smfh.

I have an old friend who I competed in national teams with . He made an Olympic final and fell on hard times and know works as a delivery driver . Sadly this is life but and here’s the but a country like America should provide support for diagnosed brain injuries and the like .
Curry must have earnt enough to have a mortgage free house at least ? Then if no money a little job to bring in afew dollers . We alll have to work and take personal responsibility ability . The brain issue he definitely needs support with that should be dealt with within local or central government.
Curry is that guy who suddenly lost his job and had to find a new profession. Only his old one left him with brain damage. Sure boxers “know what they’re getting into” and all, but this is a unique career where things can sometimes break bad so I do think some sympathy is earned here. Hope the guy can get some help.

There is no cure for what he has. Old age. Most old people just run out of steam and nobody makes a big deal out of it. Getting old aint easy.

I hope Sulaiman really helps him, he was a fantastic fighter in his prime.

Boxing is disgraceful how they don't help the fighters with medical care and provide a pension fund or some savings fund for current and former fighters.

They especially have to help former boxers, even those who may have earned a few million during their career.

Remember, most prizefighters do not and won't get paid what Canelo and Fury and those guys get.

I'm sure a percentage of those huge purses could go to a fund for boxers past and present. Turki, if he would really contribute to those suffering from the sport, could help, if he sees the bigger picture.

There but for the Grace of God go I. I’ve done very well in life, but I’m old and experienced enough to understand that it wasn’t just good decisions on my part that got me where I am. Some people catch a lot of breaks, some very few — if any. I’m not discounting hard work — far from it — but one wrong turn can derail a person’s life. It takes a hell of a lot of work and determination to become a world champion at anything, so Curry certainly wasn’t a loafer. Fighting for a living is a grind. In the history of boxing a minuscule percentage of men have earned enough to truly retire with, even if they reached the top. And if your brains got scrambled along the way, as Donald's apparently were, it’s tough to make it after the paydays stop. May the Lord bless him.
