Comments Thread For: Fifteen fights for 2025

There might be some huge nights ahead in 2025, with speculation that Terence Crawford could finally land the Canelo Alvarez fight, that Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will finally get to box at Wembley Stadium, and we also know that several excellent matches are on tap, not least at 175lbs where Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol rematch on February 22 and David Benavidez and David Morrell fight three weeks earlier.

All this but just leave out Wilder imo. And Tank isn't fighting any credible threat.

          Good list. Sign me up.

By the way, I would be happy if they made 10 out of the 15 fantasy fights in 2025.

Right then, 2025 is shaping up to be a proper dust-up! I say, these potential clashes are juicier than a ripe plum. Seriously though, the heavyweight division looks set to deliver some thunderous action. Who's got their money on Fury? It all reminds me of that time I tried to parallel park a U-Haul downtown – utter chaos. Maneuvering that thing was like playing Slither io with a school bus, constantly bumping and scraping before giving up and walking.

So almost three quarters into this year...lets see:
                  • Gervonta Davis-Shakur Stevenson...100% not happening this year or ever IMO. Tank seems to be unable to even set up the Roach rematch to happen this year, and I won't be surprised if he actually retires at the end of the year with nothing worthy to note happening.
                  • Naoya Inoue-Junto Nakatani...one that actually has a solid chance of happening in the future, but in 2026 not 2025.
                  • Daniel Dubois-Martin Bakole...they both lost their last fights (loss then a draw for Bakole), and I have a feeling they will both aim for an easier opponent to get back on winning track. Even if it happens in the future certainly lost a lot of luster.
                  • Vasiliy Lomachenko-Gervonta Davis...Loma retired. 100% never happening ever.
                  • Jai Opetaia-Zurdo Ramirez...for a while it seemed like it was legit going to happen, but seems like the pot kinda lost the heat unfortunately. Still could happen next year with a slight chance of end of this year, maybe???
                  • Canelo Alvarez-David Benavidez...100% not happening ever.
                  • Caleb Plant-Christian Mbilli...Plant losing to Resindez really killed his value. Not sure if this has excitement left amymore.
                  • Janibek-Carlos Adames/Hamzah Sheeraz winner...there were no winner, Sheeraz went up and it seems like Adames has no interest in mingling with Janibek.
                  • Terence Crawford-Jaron “Boots” Ennis...100% not happening ever.
                  • Teofimo Lopez-Jaron “Boots” Ennis...Actually could still happen, but likely not on a Riyadh card so Hearn would have to make it happen on his own without Turki funding if he wants it.
                  • Keyshawn Davis-Pitbull Cruz...they are both in 140 now and I guess it could still happen?
                  • Oscar Collazo-Pedro Taduran...for a moment it seemed like Collazo will be going undisputed this year. However the Jerusalem rematch fell through and who knows what is going on with Taduran? Still could happen and Collazo may be able to aim for undisputed but it will definitely be in 2026 if it happens.
