The problems lies with the fact that boxing is no longer a mainstream sport anymore. Which in turn force these promoters to overcharge and fleece the boxing consumer with a higher price tag for their loss of a broader audience, piracy and revenue.Comment

Reason why they do it on PPV is because fighters want too much guarantee money.
Not because broadcasters or promoters make huge profit from it.
It's a delicate balancing act for Arum in this case. Fact that it's on PPV means
few people would be able to see it. Then the ads have to be eliminated...
HBO was the first to publicly say they never wanted PPVs, they rather do it like
they've done most of their fights.

There should be real penalties to those who are ripping off the signal,” Arum said.
He forgot to mention how the promoters should be penalized for some of the chit they stuff down our throats and force us to purchase calling it ppv

All people have to do is have a cheap IPTV service and they doin't need any of those dodgy websites. I pay $17 a month for mine with 5 connections and use multi view to have multiple events on when its the weekend.Comment

This is mostly might thoughts as well. Lopez also hasn't really been in the casual fan's eyes in some time. Perhaps the last was the Josh Taylor fight and that was in 2023. Matias is fun for the fight fans that know about him. If they truly want to charge, this is like a 30 bucks or less type of PPV. No way in hell you can sell it for 70+ when most casuals have no idea who Matias is or care enough about Teo since they haven't seen him in awhile. He's like a star whose not burning bright and on the edge of fizzing out.Comment
