I don't know why you're focusing on Mr Bob Arum alone. His ppv prices are not even "exorbitant" compared to PBC's. He's also been suggesting that prices be cut even lower. Nobody else does. And he rarely does ppv fights and prefers to do it by subscription. That's why reports of ppv numbers exceeding 100,000 (100k) is hard to digest. It may even be drastically lower. I don't even know why lots of people still believe in reported numbers like 300,000 to 800,000.

The article was focusing on Bob Arum. For the record I hate all PPV. The last one I got ****** into was Mayweather vs Marquez. I think that that is one of three for my whole life.

The reality is there are two fighters that have any business fighting on ppv and that is canelo and tank. Nobody else should even be thinking about fighting on ppv but all of these guys win one semi notable fight and think they are stars.

It's not about that. It's about piracy. What makes you think Canelo and Tank's fights are not also pirated, considering they're more expensive? Bottom line is what you see reported are fake numbers. They're made up by fanboys pulled out from their asses. That's what people should focused on, use their brain and start questioning numbers. Everything reported is manufactured, thus it's giving the illusion that PPVs are still being bought. How many PPV fights did you buy last year? Exactly.

I think everyone has summed it up. For me, there was a time when PPV meant it was a really big fight and everyone wanted to see it. Then it descended into "it's not huge, but screw it, boxing fans might swing for it", followed by "let's bleed everyone for a bout that is a one horse race". DAZN went from a subscription service to a "give me your wallet" heist as well. I paid for Oleksandr Usyk v Tyson Fury 2, just to see Oleksandr shut Fury up (Tyson still can't zip it), but the undercard was nothing to write home about (and I like some of boxers that were on it). Just give value for money and folk will buy stuff!

The real ripoff is the asking price of most PPV's, a lot that do not even deserve to be PPVs like this one.

Reason why they do it on PPV is because fighters want too much guarantee money.
Not because broadcasters or promoters make huge profit from it.
It's a delicate balancing act for Arum in this case. Fact that it's on PPV means
few people would be able to see it. Then the ads have to be eliminated...
HBO was the first to publicly say they never wanted PPVs, they rather do it like
they've done most of their fights.
