Debois knocked him out, he has to erase that blemish from his record then he should just retire

Usyk seems like he feels he has more to accomplish. Or maybe he wants to make more money. He's entitled to his choice. If he loses in his next fight, I don't have too many issues with it. He's 39, and will have fought the best of his generation at all kinds of disadvantages. Everyone gets older, and nobody stays winning as they approach 40.

As far as actual opponents, I agree with you. Not a lot of ***y names left. Rematch with Dubois? Meh. Kabayel is overrated IMO. Easy, pointless fight. Zhang is OLD. Like..great to see the midget Usyk against a giant like Zhang, but Zhang will be ~42 by then. Parker? Again, meh. Not an exciting fight, and not one that does anything for Usyk.

My choice would be to entice Opetaia to come up. Opetaia has looked excellent against good competition. He's very similar build to Usyk (6'2 vs 6'3, 78 vs 76 in reach), and is 10 years younger. They can sell it as "past vs future" fight or something.
Opertaia sucks I would rather him rematch dubois

I still want him to fight parker. Two fast heavyweights about the same size.

Fight against Opetaia wood be great also.

All that’s left now are no name boxers looking to make a name but they’re not here to stay they’re not going to mark their names in boxing annals as one of the best, the pedigree isn’t there. Zhang, Parker, Kabayel, Bakole… these guys are either too old, have lost several times, or unproven.. what’s the benefit of fighting one of them risking a loss as you’re aging and slowing down only to give them a star on their resume while tarnishing you’re own.

RETIRE USYK… you have achieved more than 99.9% of boxers can ever hope to achieve and now you have enough money for 5 lifetimes.
I know usyk is entitled to whatever he chooses as he’s earned that, I also think he is still at the peak of his powers.. i wouldn’t blame him if he wants to continue.. but no other names would really excite me.. maybe if someone like a prime wilder is around then that would intrigue me a bit.

so yup… i hope he retires after this. This is the best exit. Paid the biggest and won

It's only risk if you take the modern view of boxing.

His legacy should really be set. A few more wins enhance it by giving him a long reign. A loss shouldn't be a big deal when you consider what he's achieved.

Ideally he'd ultimately have a passing of the torch fight and we'd all praise him. But boxing fans are a weird bunch and would probably call him a bum.

Every fight is a risk. It all depends on if he still has his skills and agility. Going by this fight, he definitely still has it. Usyk is turning 38 next month. He can fight for another 2 or 3 fights in 2025 and retire. He knows he can still win fights and get big money from the Saudi Prince. The war in Ukraine could end next year because of the upcoming U.S. President. Usyk will help rebuild but will require a lot of money which he can get those fights.
