Comments Thread For: Big-fight preview: Will it be repeat or revenge when Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury collide again?

When Tyson Fury steps into the ring today, against the only boxer to ever beat him in a prizefight, there is more at stake for the Englishman than mere titles and glory. A second consecutive defeat to Ukraines Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia, particularly a more convincing one than the first, could leave the 36-year-old Furys career at the crossroads and his life irrevocably different.

Good preview. If I am to bet on this fight, it will be Uysk. Someone as big and talented as Fury can of course never be counted out, and the bookies have it extremely close, but I just find it hard to see Uysk beaten. If Fury does manage it, he has to constantly target Usyk's body. That's his only real weakness, and Fury was having success there last time. Usyk definitely has been affected by it numerous times, in numerous fights.

Definitely a 50/50 fight. I’m leaning towards Usyk, and I can even see a KO stoppage.

Fury will do what ever it takes to win. He might get disqualified along the way. If fury controls his emotions, he wins easily. If not, ears will be bitten.

I have started to fall for "big Fury uses his weight this time and stops Usyk" narrative. So instinctively I think actually - Usyk wins again, this time by KO

People forget that Usyk will improve and Fury may not even perform as a well as before. I saw Fury pre Joshua/Dubois fight and he looked like he had aged a ton, and he was giving weird interviews too

Conversely, I can't recall a Fury fight where he was seriously hurt by a body attack.
Head shots will wobble him and put him on the canvas, but I'm blanking on when a body shot ever visibly hurt him.
Which seems a bit counterintuitive, given Fury's flabby and large target of a midsection.

                Fury will win, maybe convincingly.

The undercard is pretty crap, unusual for Saudi, but hey, the main event is great.

The biggest difference I see between the two is that Usyk is more flexible. He can fight off his front foot as well as his back foot.

However, what really sets Usyk apart above the rest is his ability to make adjustments on the fly. In this regard he is very similar to Sugar Ray Leonard.

Fury is more static. He doesn’t make adjustments on the fly. He sticks to the same game plan and follow the same blue print for the entirety of the fight.

For instance after hurting Okeksandr several times in their first; He simply backed up to admire his work. Not once did he press to get the knockout.

He stuck to the script; The original game plan of out boxing Usyk by keeping the action in the center of the ring.

This time I am sure that it will be Fury. Last time he was not 100% ready and focused but he did well. This time Fury is ready and focused. No need to speak about who is better fighter because both of them are great. Fury was really annoying for some time. He made a lot of shi**, he fought Chisora, Nganou...he did not train well..but today I see different Fury.
Usyk is ready as always but tonight, there is different Fury in front od him.
