broner fight wasnt a robbery but ok. a guy moving up 2 weight divisions who turned out to suck there? thats a great win?
comparing joshua to paulie is laughable. what is that based on? like i said paulie has 2 top 10(ring) ranked wins. joshua has 8. the guys joshua beat are also clearly better by the rankings: wlad 1, parker 3, ruiz 3, whyte 4 after joshua, etc...i mean senchenko was ranked 5th which doesnt compare to joshua but if you really want to break down senchneko..
he won a vacant belt against an unranked guy, defended it a couple of times against nobodies, and was overranked simply for having a belt because he never beat a top 10 ranked opponent. literally everything you said about euro bums and alphabet soup applies to paulies best win!
senchenko su-cked so bad that he fought brook the next year and got blasted out in a couple rounds because class tells over time and with larger sample sizes. the guys joshua beat are all top class fighters with many top 10 wins, yeah some like charles martin are senchenko level sure, but he has the class wins as well. paulie does not.
How so? (third bolded statement) what exactly did I "say" about Paulie? Your the one making comparisons I did no such thing. I only said he was a decent fighter who did well for himself, then you got out the old relative measure calculator and compared things and determined that the nonsense meant something... Something objective, I did no such thing, I never would.
You cannot compare Joshua to Paulie you imbecile. I said it tongue in cheek and you actually believe that relative rankings, all subjective nonsense could indicate that a heavyweight can be compared to a light weight fighter. The same way you tried to discredit Paulie based on the same nonsense! If you take all the nonsense, all the smear attempt and expose it to truth, your basically discrediting a good workman like fighter, who had some good wins and a decent career.Comment

Why does he have to be either?
He was a good boxer, late starter who won a national championship as an amateur from memory.
Went on to have a solid professional career, he was very good against Cotto, and I think the first N'dou fight was his best performance, most people expected that to be a competitive fight, N'dou was a handful at that time, and Paulie pretty much shut him out, that was a performance worthy of being a world champ.
after that, it was won some lost some, but def enough good wins and performances to cement him as a solid world level operator.Comment

And who actually has said that Paulie is a boxing master? Bad revisionism is amock these days lol.
When he was fighting, Paulie was seen as a decent fighter who always struggled when he stepped up (some of his wins were constroversial, look those fights up). His hand speed was great, but his foot speed wasn't, so he ended up mixing it up too much for someone with limited power. That always led to a lot of fun fights tho.
I do think he is a smart dude who can often offer an excellent analysis of fights, even if he does a proclivity for boxer types in his picks. His infamous comments back in Showtime were def idiotic, but I think that firing him like that was a silly move, compared to how people in the sport still lionize some f'd up people.Comment

Paulie had a great career for someone who basically was a one handed fighter with the strength of a prepubescent girlComment

Did you know he legitimately only beat 2 top 10 ranked(ring) opponents his entire career: lovemore ndou(twice) and senchenko. whats the deal with this guy? he hung around for so long. how? why? and he blatantly robbed ngoudjo and pablo cesar cano along the way as well.
his signature win appears to be...juan diaz? juan diaz moving up in weight coming off a ko loss? what the heck is that. thats not good, thats not good at all in retrospective. do you think guys like malignaggi deserve to be clogging the spotlight while others get passed up? hell i think munguia has a better resume no jokeComment
