Comments Thread For: Alexis Rocha remains just short of a title opportunity

Alexis Rocha was disappointed but not demoralized in the media scrum following his draw with Raul Curiel.

Rocha is a good fighter and fun to watch, but he seems to struggle with gatekeeper types.
Maybe the gatekeepers (Santillan, Curiel) are doing their job keeping the gates.

I haven't seen a Barrios fight yet. I should do a search on YouTube for one.
Barrios seems to have a reputation as the weakest of the current 147 title holders. I like Rocha's grit and determination and a Barrios vs Rocha seems legit enough in these days of cherry-picked opponents and ageing-out weight bullies.

If Rocha does eventually get a belt, he won't keep if for long. Lost cause for a B+ fighter with nothing special. As for Curiel, his power did not live up to the hype.

I'd take Rocha or Curial over Barrios any day.

Barrios paid his duties and achieved his opportunity. He just isn't good. Neither is Rocha the only difference is Rocha didn't achieved any of his opportunities when they were granted to him. Always came up short.

Just watched the fight. Entertaining fight but far from fight of the year, the 12th round was great. If Rocha would had stuck with the gameplay he would had won, Curiel has no answer for leg movement and can be positioned.

Mora needs to shut up, he is ridiculous with his comments. Instead of narrating the fight he is insisting what a fighter should do.

There's a reason Boots wants to fight Barrios and not Stanionis or Norman Jr.

That doesn't change who I think would win. Rocha and Curial would be way too much for Barrios. And if Rocha beats Barrios, he will have gone through hell in a number of fights to get there. He and Curial bring the heat that would make Barrios fold.
