id love nothing more than to see dirrell to win this thing...

what makes this tourney great from a boxing fan's perspective is there arent many guys the average boxing fan truly LOVES nor are there any guys the average boxing fan truly HATES...

i could see people who arent from GB hating froch, but i personally dont mind him...i find him entertaining, albeit in a i wouldnt mind seeing you get KTFO sense...

i guess "my guy" is kessler just because i loved how he handled the calzaghe fight with such class...he got outboxed by a world-class fighter in that fight, but he by no means embarrassed himself...

dirrell would probably be the second guy id like to win, closely followed by taylor...

I understand people questioning the inclusions of Dirrell and Taylor, but it probably came down to the fact that Bute and Andrade would've cost too much. This budget on this thing must be ridiculous already.
Yeah and it would've involved either Interbox in Canada for Bute or GBP for Andrade. Both of them might have been harder to strike a deal with than Shaw.

I think Kessler should be the favorite to win this as well, not just because of the Calzaghe fight but because he was consistently beating top 10 guys prior to the Calzaghe fight, he is a proven commodity.

I think Dirrell will either do very well or be a dud. He's very talented and has great, natural athelticism, but is very raw. His level of competition has been low, but I think part of that was because he was without a promoter for a while. Plus, I think he's the type of fighter that fights to the level of opposition in front of him, but I could be wrong.

For what it's worth, Andre Ward is my dark horse.

Yeah. I think Dirrell will rise to the occasion, he has the skills and the athleticism to be a major player in the tournament, the experience will come with time, starting with tomorrow's fight.

What's great about this tournament is that everyone has a realistic chance of winning it.

True, that is the beauty of this tournament.

The thing about Dirrell is that I believe he has the style and athletic ability to beat Froch and Abraham (his unofficial second opponent), it's just that he may struggle with the other three, if he can't iron certain flaws in his game IMO.

True, I'm actually banking on him showing some improvements tomorrow, he needs to because he'll most likely have to go 12 rounds against a guy who comes forward for every minute of it.

aside from that mistake, i love your idea...
i was trying to think of a better name to put in but....... well it was hatton or berto. berto may be better now, but hatton has that popularity. it would be more interesting with him in. no doubt though, hatton would have no chance.

Without a doubt. There was also a good article on him over at MB.com (not sure if Kim wrote it or not), but he said he plans to get back to basics for the fight, and is making it a priority to keep his hands up.

I also think he needs to make better use of his movement and step to Froch's left and turning him, as opposed to just backing up in a straight line in order to create space.

Allan Green, the guy who had his confidence taken against Miranda, whom Abraham beat twice, should not have been in the tournament. Everyone in this tournament would dominate Allan Green.
