Great matchup when two top contenders meet in the ring, no argument there.
My issue is that this has to be a PPV event.
Eff that.
This is the kind of fight that can draw in more fans to the sport.
Make it accessible rather than exclusive.
Jaysus, I hate the business end of boxing.
It's like a giant crusty a*s*s*h*o*l*e.
What is Morrell's path to victory? The more scientific boxing fan would probably have a better answer than I, but I have a feeling Ronnie is going to focus on making sure the younger David's pressure and speed matches or outdoes the elder David's, and then maybe look for counters?
Im putting $ on Benny handling Morrell a can of whoopass. I just see Benavidez on a slightly better fighter momentum its going to be similar to the Plant fight imo, DM starting strong probably even outboxing Benny for a few rounds til he get overwhelmed with the pressure and fast hands from Benavidez. It'll be a good one for sure.

The only flaw I see in this argument is that Plant can't pop. Morrell can.

Dirrell would think different doe. Lol but yeah thats why i said 'similar', im aware DMJ probably hits harder than Plant although we haven't seen him against someone that can punch back as hard as him...til now. Hot rod seemed to take those punches really well but hes a full blown LHW so...yeah.
We definitely have no idea how good Morrell's chin is... I don't think it'll be much of an issue considering Benavidez is more volume than power, and as far as I can tell, Morrell has decent defense and excellent maneuverability. Morrell needs to outvolume the volumer. Hey, I just made up two words! But couple volume with his perceived power, I'd say Morrell stands a chance. A good one. Go to Benavidez' body.
End of the day, Benny has been here before (relatively speaking). Morrell hasn't. Who is gonna want it most?
