Comments Thread For: Joe Joyce plans to return to the ring in 2025: 'Im not done yet'
Joe Joyce has lost three of his last four and didnt look great in that one victory but the 39-year-old heavyweight says the plan isnt to retire, but rather to return to the ring.

Joyce is a confident fighter as soon as he lost the first time it all came crashing down so they need to rebuild carefully. I would suggest Pulev, Hughie Fury and then Whyte if his win all 3 then he gets his confident back and can push forward if he loses then he should seriously consider retirement.
Watched a post fight interview of Torrez from this weekend and he said the only name he’s mentioned even prior to the losses is Joyce, and went on to say other than that he’d fight whoever and is willing/able.
Personally, haven’t heard Torrez-Joyce mentioned anywhere , maybe I’m not following close enough.
Joe Joyce is another washed up fighter who doesn't know when to call it quits just like Conlan, Khan etc. Hopefully they can all join the WWE and settle their differences in a 'triple threat' match because that's where they belong NOT the boxing ring!
I feel kind of bad for Joe. He was a dangerous HW at one point, largely due to his engine and his insane chin, but he never got his big money fight with AJ/Fury/Usyk/Wilder (and he may well have won some of those potential match ups) and instead ends up getting derailed and his chin perma cracked by a relatively obscure opponent. Now that the chin (and the aura of having an uncrackable chin) has gone he pretty much is done.
Give the man his due though, he wasnt pretty to watch and moved like a sloth but he beat the **** out of Dubois and Parker, two wins that have aged extremely well.

Agreed…Joe is a likeable guy and WAS a dangerous contender but seems to have peaked at the Dubois fight. Also, it’s kind of ironic how years after their fight Dubois has gone from strength to strength and beaten some tough opponents on his way to becoming world champion like Hrgovic, Miller & Joshua whereas Joe came unstuck against 40yo’s Zhang & Chisora.
Sad to see but he needs to call it a day before something serious happens (this is Heavyweight boxing after all) because if you can’t get past Chisora & Zhang there’s NO hope.
People need to factor into this debate, that Joe Joyce has beaten by Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker 'In quite impression fashion. And for all we know? The version's of both Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker could of been better versions of themselves as fighters, that we are witnessing now in the game'.
The Heavyweight competitive landscape is altering on a fight by fight basis, when you really analyse the division? There are no super dominant fighters, either statistically or with their boxing style. Even the top fighters of the Division, appear to LOOK very beatable.
Oleksandr Uysk, may be undefeated in the professional ranks 'But he was not portrayed a aura, of a fighter who is completely invulnerable to physical attacks, or formidable as a competitor. That is a classic hallmark trait of this Heavyweight Boxing era, at no point? Did Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder or Anthony Joshua during their Heavyweight reigns; appear to be dominant at the level of Wladimir Kiltschko, Mike Tyson or Lennox Lewis'.
Looking back in retrospect, Wladimir Kiltschko was a Champion for close to 10 years 'He was beaten once in a underwhelming fight, by Tyson Fury. Were Fury was being backed up all night, but? Deserving so he riddled his way to a great win, in terms of historical significance'.
Tyson Fury never rematch Wladimir Kiltschko, as Fury pulled out of the scheduled rematch twice. Unfortunately due to his then circumstance. 'Which was a great injustice, that a Champion with the prestige and esteem of Kiltschko was not given his opportunity to win his titles back vs Tyson Fury II'.
Note: In reality the Tyson Fury Heavyweight reign did not begin, until February 22nd 2020 'Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder II. This was when officially in my opinion, Fury's true Heavyweight reign began. Because he won the WBC World Heavyweight title vs Deontay Wilder II, and then went on to defend his titles until eventually losing vs Oleksandr Uysk I on May 18th 2024'.
The main point I am trying to make is? As you can see this Heavyweight boxing era, has not really had one constant dominant fighter 'Because even amongst the three Heavyweight Mountains of this era, which were Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua. All of those fighters were very beatable, and the chasing pack in the Division to extent has always posed a threat to their Heavyweight reigns'.
To conclude: If Daniel Dubois continues to stay as the IBF World Heavyweight Champion, or even if he loses his titles to Joseph Parker in his next fight 'Neither one of those fighters in my opinion, have the attributes and level of game to be super dominant Champions. Dubois and Parker have already proven in their careers, that skill for skill overall they are not really on the same level as Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Uysk or Anthony Joshua'.
Regardless if Dubois has beaten Joshua, that performance is only one fight 'We have witness those fighters up above, encounter more stylistic challenges and win during their careers. So they have to be regarded still as the most complete fighters active in the Heavyweight Division'.
Joe Joyce may have lost his last fight, but he produce a great effort 'In a underrated fight, the action produce was worthy of big credit to the fighters'.
If Joyce can string together a few wins, and keep himself in the Heavyweight game. Then potential fights against Daniel Dubois II and Joseph Parker II are natural progressions. Joe Joyce in my opinion, if he can maintain his form is a live and dangerous threat to those fighters.
I would have to agree, with Joe Joyce 'If he is matched in a way which benefits him stylistically, he can still potentially be involved in very big fights which he can win' etc.
