Disingenuous by Hearn - he knows very well the reason that Ortiz had to move up to 154 ... because he literally might have died if he'd continued trying to make 147. Team Ennis is all over the shop on wobbly legs and that's out of the ring.

That was my first thought. Everyone in the boxing world knows why Vergil moved to 154 and also that he will never again compete at 147 because he cannot make that weight without seriously risking his health. This is the best excuse they are going to come up with for avoiding Ortiz?

Also, don't worry about the belt, welterweight has nothing for Ennis.

There's more glamour and big names at 154, and although middleweight is very dreary, it too is better than welterweight now.

Welterweight used to be packed with stars and big fights. It's just not the case at this stage.

i dont think thats how it works, eddie is his promoter, boots & his team call the shots pick who they want and eddie makes it happen
