Hopefully it still gets made and ends up on the February card. As other Riadh cards have shown if it's a good fight then the loser will still get big fights. Boots needs to grow his profile; that's surely why he signed with Eddie. Fighting in Saudi in a fight with real interest has to be the way to go.

Follow it up with a fight against Benn and then you could be in line for Crawford.

I suppose every once in a while when things work out the way we all believe they should, he can actually speak the honest truth, but how often does that happen in boxing these days?

Another Thought: While everyone showers Turkey with praise and blessings, does anyone else believe that one significant contributing factor to the malaise of top-tier boxers passing on too many matchups is because of the lure of a really big-money fight? In other words, these guys might be getting paid too much. It blunts the competitive drive to keep fighting, earn a decent (but not ridiculous) amount of money per fight - all needed keep the divisions' ecosystems running properly and in a timely fashion.
Ever notice how the UFC doesn't pay nearly as well and those guys fight ALL the time. Like Uber drivers, the more you take on, the more you earn. If an Uber driver believed he could score a million-dollar fare once a week, he would never drive anyone around as he waited for the big score.
Waiting doesn't earn you big fights, what earns them big money is the "Demand" and Turki knows what fights fans want to see.

I like Hearn in general - as much as promoters can be liked - because he engages and brings color to boxing and in general is respectful. Unlike Oscar who engages but is full of bile and dis-respectful, Arum who is disappearing (but excusable due to age) and Haymon who is invisible.

This issue of boxers being overpaid is not a Saudi thing - it was there before though maybe to a lesser degree.

All other major sports have well paid stars but due to a league structure they are forced to play each other. If a league system would be introduced in boxing then it would be better for the fans - we'd know who was the best at each weight.

Why are Boots and Hearns worried about that IBF Belt @ 147? It's a trash division! If it looks like a duck, and sounds like a duck...Sorry Boots, IT'S A DUCK!!!

Unless they were banking on fighting a depleted Ortiz
This in all reality is Boots being Boots
No need to look any further than his record shows

Boots is huge for 147 as obviously was Ortiz. Some fighters can handle extreme pre-fight dehydration, some can't. If we went back to day of the fight weigh-ins, both these guys would be middle weights

I agree the market is inflated and all these guys over pricing theirselves. Not saying they don’t deserve it because I believe every fighter deserves to get paid. But realistically speaking not much money is in it as in the past even with turkey. And it doesn’t help when serial duckers like Canelo and tank made ducking popular, cool and acceptable.

Guys like boots aren’t lucky enough to get spoonfed past prime small guys with big names like a Shane Mosley, cotto, Leo Santa Cruz to build up their profile and pad their “resume”.

The other young guys pricing theirselves out because the market is inflated. The older guys with established names can’t fight or moved up. Shawn porter retired at like 34. Bud chasing Canelo and money because he was froze out for so long.

maybe boots should take a play out of Canelo and tanks book and just try and use one of these popular guys from a lower weight class like140 and 135 to build his profile up. Somebody like Ryan Garcia would be perfect or a teofimo lopez. Beat enough guys like that and eventually they’ll say he “earned it” and he has the best “resume”

Some dude on another thread called me a liar after saying Boots wouldn't do it.

                      I am no liar.
