Sunny is a really good boxer and a courageous guy, but he's always struck me as kind of frail and not very strong. I could be wrong, but I have always thought that he would benefit from more strength training.

There can and are no excuses for an empahic loss like that and If he talks like that in his corner to his corner about not wanting to be in there as early as that then he's got his retirement spot on. Good luck Sonny.

Sunny was hunting giants with a pea shooter. It's one thing to get in the ring with an equalizer, but it takes a lot of nerve to go in with no power. Mostly it's ugly but there was no chicken in Sunny.

I think calling him a loser is a bit too harsh.
His concession to defeat and his candor about his mental and physical abilities after the fight sounded honest and heartfelt.
He may not have won the fight but he went out like a winner in my book.

I still criticise the timing of the stoppage; too early, but now in this context, it's not that bad, seeing as he just didn't have it for this fight.

Maybe with a year out or some months out with rest, he'll decide he can come back.

But his body and mind needs an extended period of rest. Your body can only do that much, it'll tell you when it's time out for a while.

Bam has to take some credit for his leaving the ring on a more permanate basis....after a while if u can not keep them off you with your hands and your feet will not allow you to dance anymore.

Enjoy your retirement. Always good to get out when the getting is good.

Very good post from my man JeBron Lamez

I remember once they asked an American trainer, 'who is the bravest boxer you can think of?' I think they were expecting him to name a guy that went into war after war like Arturo Gatti or Mickey Ward. He said 'Chris Byrd'. Why? Because he got no power to keep MoFos off, all he has is his skills but he keeps getting in there doing it. I mean, all boxers are brave but, if you think about it, going up against a tank with a peashooter is the bravest thing of all.

Yafai is easily dominated the action. Overwhelmed Edwards with constant volume. Edwards talked about lacking the will or energy.
