Maybe so but the fight was supposed to take place in late spring early summer
So is it one side putting this out as a defence mechanism or is it Mbilli
Pacheco is the fighter who wanted to have a fight before facing Mbilli
Did he just flip the script ???

Even if Mbilli was ready to fight by January, wouldn't it have not occurred anyway if Pacheco had a fight scheduled with Nelson and was ready to announce next week when IBF made the Mbilli-Pacheco call just this month? Unless Pacheco had an agreement with Nelson as the backup for January similar to how Doheny was the backup for September for Inoue.

Mbilli wasn’t ready? What kind of crap is that?

          Smells like a duck.

We might never know. The thing I know is that he turned down a fight against Morrell Jr for a canelo mandatory, twice, and now they ordered a fight and his people ssid he was mot going to be ready.

I know he has refused fights before but this sounds like a
prearranged excuse from the Pacheco camp
Diego is the one who wanted a fight before facing Mbilli and now putting it out there to make it sound like Mbilli is the one refusing
I’m sure we’ll hear more about this in the coming days

Unbeaten 168-lb contender Diego Pacheco will face Steven Nelson on January 25th in Las Vegas. Pacheco (22-0, 18 KOs) wants to stay busy in 2025, and fighting undefeated #13 WBO Nelson (20-0, 16 KOs) is one way to accomplish that.

This fight was already on the table before negotiations started with Mbilli

It doesn't matter who is ducking who, the reason they doing it is that they don't want to lose their place in the queue. In the least, pacheco is fighting an undefeated fighter and keeping himself in the picture.

Any which way you wanna see it is fine with me but don’t fool yourself , this is and all it will be a stay busy fight
Meaning there is very little chance of Pacheco losing , vey little
Mbilli can fight him in spring if Diego still wants that smoke
Undefeated fighter yes but 36 years old and nobody really worth mentioning on his ledger of wins

I know there's almost no chance he loses. They'll want to sell their 0 at the highest price, hence the no risk opponents. There's so many good fights that can be made if a good champ was in charge.
