  • Comments Thread For: Boxxer hoping to stage Martin Bakole-Efe Ajagba IBF heavyweight eliminator

Martin Bakole often finds himself as the odd man out in the heavyweight division. With Zhilei Zhang and Agit Kabayel facing one another rather than Bakole, possibly on February 22, it has left the Scotland-based Congolese fighter without an opponent.

No more kidding. This time Ajagba is getting knocked out cold.

Anybody with any sense will avoid Martin. Though I'd love to see him flatten Dillian Whyte.

There is nothing I've seen of Ajagba to suggest he could beat Bakole. He's been dropped (on several occasions) by fighters who likely don't hit anyplace as hard as Bakole. His boxing is basic and he keeps his head on the line. Efe's once feared punching power has disappeared as soon as he stepped up in competition.

I am starting to believe that:
          - either his sparring stories are true and he is really being avoided by everyone, or
          - his promoter is the worst promoter on earth and could not get laid in a brothel with a stack of $100 bills hanging out of his zipper.

WTF? According to the stories in the last few months, Bakole was going to fight every top 10 heavyweight in the world and now they are talking about Efe?

efe is tbrb #10 for quite some time. to be honest, i think that bakole, zhang and kabayel all deserve title shots now without fighting any other top10 contender.

Bakole might retire Ajagba. I don't see how he wins that.

'Anybody with any sense will avoid Martin'. I don't agree. There are guys who aren't even that good that could probably beat Martin. Parker definitely, and silly as it may sound, I think Hughie Fury would be hell for Martin. Anyone that can use speed & lateral movement has a chance because Martin is slower than molasses & his stamina doesn't seem wonderful. Any H/W that stands in front of Bakole, & I would definitely include DuBois in that, ANY H/W that stands in front of Bakole might as well stand in front of the 15:42 from Euston to Manchester as it picks up speed. You are going to be Mashup!!

Bakole wins this easily but just because Anderson fought carelessly against Bakole doesn't mean he's unbreakable. Parker would work circles around him.

I am having a hard time keeping up with matchups, FFS. First it was Parker vs Zhang II, then Bakole vs Zhang, then Bakole vs Kabayel, then Kabayel vs Zhang, then Bakole vs Ajagba. This is starting to sound like a bad game of Purple Monkey Dishwasher and by the time we get to the goddamn end of the chain, Ismael Barroso will be fighting Caleb Plant's wife, Jordan.
