Gilberto Ramirez has unified two world titles at cruiserweight, but he has an obligation to take care of before he can go for a third.

It's an awkward but understandable situation; Ramirez has an overdue mandatory and Opetaia has just signed to face his mandatory. We all want the big unification bout but there's no point doing unless it's for all the marbles. Ramrirez has earnt a rest after such a grueling battle with CBS, so perhaps he faces his mandatory April-May in Saudia Arabia and Jai makes a defense (assuming he beat Cinkara) on the same card to build up the anticipation of unification fight. No matter how it happens Opetaia is the number one talent in the division and it's a shame that the other big names in the division either avoid him or circumstances like this delay the opportunity he needs to prove he is the best at Cruiserweight.

Then Gilberto Ramirez should get a good amount of credit if he beats the aged Yuniel Dorticos decisively.

Mandatory opponent and former IBF champion with 93% KO rate. Younger (not by much) and more tested than Jai's opponent, Huseyin Cinkara.

Yuniel is inactive and old now I haven’t seen him fight lately but I give turdo a lot of credit for beating CBS like that.

Read that Ramirez had a minor shoulder injury that happened in the middle of the bout against Billiam Smith, making him unable to work his jab as much compared to the ealier rounds, think he should recover and fight in April-May like you said, while Opetaia handles his business in January.

Apparently, Noel Mikaelian has pulled out three times against his mandatory Ryan Rozicki, he also is a fairly unactive fighter, having fought once in 2022-2023 while not fighting for years since 2019-2020. Think he should get his title stripped if he is not willing to defend it in 2025.

Well Durticos fought once stay busy fight in 2024 and is the title challenger. He also has championship experience and a high stoppage rate, he is not on his prime and shouldn't be as big of a win than when Gassiev and Braidis beat him.

But I do think Ramirez should get a degree of credit, specially if he handles him dominantly.

                For CBS credit, neat.

Gawd that guy has been completely inactive to the point that I legit forgot he existed and somehow was under the impression that Opetaia is the unified WBC-IBF beltholder and the two fighting would've been for undisputed.

His wikipedia has him having fought once in 2018 (loss to Briedis), 2019, 2020, completely skipped 2021, once in 2022, once in 2023 (won the vacant WBC against Makabu), and so far none this year.

I can see Zurdo getting caught from Dorticos but he has been inactive
