Comments Thread For: Oscar Valdez won't make the same mistakes in Emanuel Navarrete rematch

Realize I am just repeating myself, but I do think he might help Teofimo Lopez as he is a boxer puncher that prefers to counter by "catch and shoot" while moving in the backfoot. But difficult to see Eddie developing a notable fighter from the ground up unlike his father who actually made champions like Javier Jauregui, Oscar Larios and Canelo Alvarez. He has mostly trained fighters that began under Joe Goosen, Joel Diaz and Manny Robles for years.
Someone else in this thread mentioned Valdez's shorter reach than Naoya Inoue, saying he should capitalize on it by in-fighting if it weren't for his style, but that was actually how he fought in the past despite his defensive flaws. Think that's the only way for him to have a shot against Navarrete in the rematch.
Think that in his fight with Wilson, he ditched his gameplan in the sixth round, after he realized he was getting caught trying to box with the Aussie at midrange and missing hard but low output punches. Getting more success fighting the way he did in the past.
