It's Mayweather effect. It's all about facing the least risky fights for the most money facing WELL Known Names.
De La Hoya was old
Marquez was 2 divsions lower
Mosley was old
Canelo was Green and drained
Pacman was not near his peak, been beating multiple times already
McGregor was a name
One Maidana in his "prime" and Mayweather struggles needing a rematch.
Also waiting for the highest Risk fights till later age like Crawford vs Spence and now Tank waiting to take high risk fights. Finallywanting to face an old Loma. Canelo not taking on Benavidez. It's clearly the fighters specially if they are the A side.Comment

U don't know sh_t about boxing either, I see! Oscar 51 will be 52 In February Floyd will be 48 then you mention his weight classes which started at Jr. Lightweight 130-154 he weighed 150 1/2 fighting Canelo who came in @152. Canelo was younger and beating everyone but look at his record and the people he fought was much older, but no flack only to Floyd who is black. Miguel Cotto is 44, Floyd beat him too, Zab Judah 47 Floyd beat him too, Shane Mosley is 53, Ricky Hatton 46. They all got their a_s kicked too!Last edited by hitmanjosh; 11-25-2024, 02:32 PM.Comment

Floyd, Oscar, Manny, and now Canelo cherry-picked on the back end of their careers by earning the right to do so- by being able to generate big $$$ whoever they fought
What changed is guys today tried to jump directly into this model without bringing in the $$$ or the eyeballs and demanding they they get paid like they do.
The business model doesn’t work unless someone else is paying the bills- PBC was able to get Showtime and others to pay big money for garbage fights- but there is no one left to pay their bills any more, yet the huge roster of PBC still expects business as usual…so they are just going to wither on the vine
We will see when or if Tank fights again as he guarantee demands are out whack with his drawing power- selling 300K PPV buys on average cannot get him a 30 million guaranteeLast edited by Buzzbron; 11-25-2024, 04:27 PM.Comment

You right, I recalled the cotto/mayweather fight being for the MW title but apparently it was at 154. Swore it was for the MW belt but they both weighed in well under but the history books can’t be wrong lol. Thats some Mandela effect stuff right there lol. Either that or I smoke too much weedlmaoComment

Now make a list of the "Greats" he beat in their "Prime".
You probably think Jake Paul beating a Mike Tyson impressive as well.
You are fooled my Mayweather's smoke and mirrors.
They were old or real young, those are "facts", not opinions and not in their prime years.
There's no denying Floyd's greatness, no matter how hard you try.Comment

How would Floyd force Oscar or Mosley in the ring when they were both bigger stars than him, holding all the cards? Cotto wanted to fight Floyd at 140 until he saw the whippin Gatti got. Floyd can't control Zab losing focus against Baldomir.
Imagine Floyd avoiding Manny for 5 years because he didn't want to be randomly drug tested. What would the media and fan narrative have been?
When, exactly, should Floyd have fought Canelo? Waited 2 more years, perhaps, when he's 38?
He fought and beat all these guys with relative ease. Fighting younger versions of Floyd only would have made it worse for them all.Comment
