Now, If he beats Morrell like im expecting him to , things could get real interesting as far as options concerns, with both Canelo and Beterbiev on the horizon. We shall see.
if you dont fight the top guy in your division for 4 years then your legacy is tarnished. same as floyd and margarito. benny and marg werent kambosos/baldomir type guys who faded away instantly. they had staying power at the top of the division with a bunch of good wins. most guys that canelo fought didnt have any good wins(yildram, saunders, charlo, berlanga etc... or maybe 1 like callum smith. benavidez now has 3 good wins across 2 divisions, marg had 4-5 good wins but i heard the same exact thing when floyd didnt fight him, oh he doenst deserve the fight but sharmba does? zab off a loss to a bum does? nobody deserved the fight more and yet benavidez didnt get it. now he will always go down as ducking the best guy in his division, of course you will say he would have won anyway and thats the whole point of not fighting him, canelo can rely on his fans to say that kind of stuff even though the truth is canelo forfeited his dignity with a shameless duck and thats part of his legacy

They don't see it that way. Is like the cheated husband excusing his wife why she slept with another man, or the cheated wife pretending not to know. Ask BodyBagz and he will answer with another question or who have the best resume today.

And fans excusing it, are as full of $h1t as him.
You still not answering the question man, Canelo actually became the division first ever undisputed, something Benavidez never even talked about ,let me remind you again BENAVIDEZ HAD THE BELT TWICE ,what risk did he took back then when he was the champ? Exactly.

Listen we can go back n forth all day long but if carefully dissect each fighter resume you dont have to be a boxing expert too realize whos the one that actually have taken more risks.

Looks like I touched a nerve or something if your getting this defensive, looking foward to seeing healthy acclimated David Benavidez fight Dimitry Bivol and Arthur Beterviev if he manages to beat Morrell.

Hold on, so you actually consider Bennys last 3 as legitimate 'good wins' lol? Lets see,

Plant: Granted ,even tho he couldn't finish him like everybody thought he would but still his best win i agree.

Andrade: 154 fighter w/out a single notable win as a 68 pounder ,add the inactivity to it.

Grandpa Gvozdyk: aged former 75 champ that was practically semi- retired and Benavidez barely handled him, a decent win at the most.

I know you guys just cant stand the ginger and thats ok but dont let your hate or whatever to stand in between your judgment and the actual facts when it comes to both fighters.

Not defensive at all. Just tired of proving 3 morons wrong about something so obvious.

same if he gets pass the other hypejob I look forward to the ass kicking he'll get from either bivol or beterbiev

Benavidez last PPV bombed so hard Haymon put his next fight on Tank’s undercard so he wouldn’t lose more money on him. This fight won’t do much better. Boxing just hasn’t been able to produce any mainstream stars since Showtime and HBO left the game.

If being honest, it is more like trying to undermine what he has done so far rather than proving anything.

Feel like Benavidez has the tools to handle both whether he wins or loses.

Specially Bivol if he beats Morrell, since David's static high guard will allow him to create openings for him like it happened for Craig Richards and Canelo Alvarez, except he be able to capitalize on his handspeed and utilize his reach advantage after catching and shooting. He will lose the initial 4-6 rounds, but he can wear down Bivol with body work and force him to fight on the ropes.

With Beterviev he has box on his backfoot to create distance and slip punches as he did against with Angulo and Gvozdyk, as Beterviev will break through the high guard and catch him with a big shot. Also disrupt his rhythm by outworking 2-1 while picking his shots. Has to avoid getting winded like he did against Gvozdyk where he injured his hand, but at least he be fighting a shorter fighter that is physically declining.

Canelo got undisputed without ever fighting the best guy in the division for 4 years. Beating David would finally prove he was the best in the division and prove he can beat a young prime lion which he has never done his entire career!. That would be great for his legacy. The fact you are even asking this question after Canelo fought Mungia and Berlanga is laughable.

This is such a GREAT fight and even better than Sheeraz vs. Williams in my opinion. Benavidez is a dominant champion and a monster but Morrell has an ELITE amateur pedigree and hits hard too. Therefore, Benavidez should get the win having had more fights and faced better opposition but I wouldn't rule out an upset either.

Can't wait for this slightly poor man's version of Bivol vs. Beterbiev!
