  • Comments Thread For: Abdullah Mason: I'm the one kickin' the door down

By the time Abdullah Mason returned from thrilling the live crowd in Norfolk, ******ia, having come through a wild two-round Fight of the Year contender, a blistering shootout with Yohan Vasquez, the boxing world was buying into the Mason hype a little more, but Sheba was a little less enthused.

"(W)ith me being where I’m at now, I don’t think we’ve seen a fighter at my age with the same skill level" is quite a claim from a 20 year old.

Lol both Tank + Stevenson were even better than this kid at 20 and could actually take a shot!

My eyes slipped and for some reason I thought I read Muratalla on the title and thought man he's younger than I thought and almost fighting for the belt is impressive, but then realized it was Abdullah Mason.

I don't know why, but I always have those two confused.

It’s still too early for this kid but he’s on the right track.
As far as tank. He’s never stepped up so we will never know but his people KNOW better than to stick him in there with elite fighters.
            Shakur is great but fragile.
my bet is on Keyshawn and perhaps Mason to be the best of the best.

I’m 46, I’ve seen young Trinidad, young Mosley, and a bunch of other young great fighters, different weight classes, but had no fear, these new age fighters talk crap but don’t fight any one, or try to be great, I’m betting Cruz from Cuba being a more mature fighter beats most of these light weights, and I’m also sure none of them fight him as well.

I am pretty sure Andy Cruz would smoke all of them, which is why nobody is calling his name.

That's weird because if Andy Cruz wanted to smoke all of them then why in the hell did he sign with MR. He's like 33 years old. His first chice to sign should have been Top Rank. His second choice should have been PBC to chase the Tank-Bank. MR has absolutely no one for him to fight except one guy and that's Shakur. But he's dead set on fighting weak azz Zapeda on Dazn before he leaves Eddie Hearn to go get a bag with Tank

It's just so funny how this is another article showing the blatant inferiority complex in the sport of boxing by some 'fans'. Abdullah KOs this guy Vasquez in 2 rounds but all you guys talk about is if he has a chin, not talking about the chin of Vasquez who got knocked out. Boots beats a guy 22 rounds to 2 and drops him once and you guys are just locked in on "Boots is no good". Devin embarrasses Jorge Linares for 12 rounds but gets hit with a good shot and you think Linares won the fight. Then Devin loses to a roided up Ryan and this is the same Ryan that you guys still haven't said anything about him quitting against Tank. Floyd easily beats Chino in the first fight but you guys weren't satisfied because he didn't 'Arturo Gatti him' so he had to run it back and punish him again. There are literally thousands of examples that I can use. So remember this, it's not black boxers who think they are superior to others in this sport, it's YOU GUYS who think black boxers are superior! hahahaha
