              please explain , black j.
This was not an anticipated matchup everyone wanted to see, nobody was talking about this fight until arum threw it out there that it could happen. Basically, this is arum using two large fanbases and pitting them against each other. Its a real fight in terms of the two fighters being legit and it being a challange for both of them, its not that, its more like this fight is ONLY happening to cash in on both of them before they leave their respective primes. I understand why this fight is happening, but its not some huge risk they are both taking because they are being paid well, and they are in house fighters, so the matchup is easy to make. This is not a fight i cared about or anticipated, im waiting for this to be over so i can see welterweight get cleared up, this fight only clogs it up IMO. Of course im going to watch it though, im not ******. no doubt it will be exciting.

Plus, Pacquiao doesn't actually make that much. He pays 27% of his money to Top Rank. Mayweather, being his own promoter, pays a much smaller percentage to his advisors Al Haymon and Leonard Ellerbe.
                Here we go again....

A promoter only can enforce their percentage of a fighters purse if the fighter fights on another promoter's card. This is a federally regulated law as written in the "Ali Act". Please research it because uninformed people keep saying this and it gets real old. First of all I do not think money should be a fans concern but since it obviously is we should at least speak the truth about it. Arum will make his money off of live gate, PPV and advertising. Chances are he sells the live gate to a vegas casino for a set amount. That reduces one variable on his fixed budget. He then figures the PPV at roughly 750,000 buys. He adds to that his HBO liscencing fee. He then adds his desired ad dollars and he has a budget to work off of.

                PPV
                Live Gate
                HBO Fee
                Advertising Dollars = A

                Purses
                Advertising
                Travel
                Taxes
                Misc...
                Event Fees
                Boxing Fees
                Misc... = B

if it makes money , it makes CENTS.

                  i don't think it's just a product of arum's greed.

there's really no one else to fight at 140 aside from maybe bradley but that's not a big enough fight.

he would have fought at 147 regardless (pbf or ssm) , cotto is just as good.

i actually think cotto MIGHT be the only 147 guy pac can beat tbh. due to some of his weaknesses and size and style.

i don't have a problem with this fight. it's not anywhere near the WTF? level of oscar-pac.

                      925,000 at $49.95 = 46.20 Million in P.P.V Revenue

                      1.1 Million at $49.95 = 54.94 Million in P.P.V Revenue
                      1.2 Million at $49.95 = 59 Million in P.P.V Revenue
                      1.3 Million at $49.95 = 64 Million in P.P.V Revenue
                      1.4 Million at $49.95 = 69 Million in P.P.V Revenue
                      1.5 Million at $49.95 = 74 Million in P.P.V Revenue
                      1.6 Million at $49.95 = 79 Million in P.P.V Revenue

                      Pacquiao: 20 Million (arum says)
                      Cotto: 10 Million (arum says)

What about HBO 30% -40% cut?
What about the Cost of 24/7?
                      What about sanction fees?
What about paying the fighters on the undercard?
What about Uncle sam tax 6% or higher of fighters purse?
What about the Arum's cut which is 27% of both Pacquiao and Cotto purse?

So let's say Pac vs. Cotto does 1.1 Million buys generating 54.94 Million in P.P.V Revenue

What about HBO 30% -40% cut?
Leaving Top rank with either 70% or 60 % of the revenue leftover.

                      So 70% of 54.94 Million= 38.45 Million
                      So 60% of 54.94 Million= 32.96 Million

Now think about the tax top rank is going to get from UNCLE SAM!

So you mean to tell me with all cost included Pacquiao and Cotto will walk
                      away

                      20 Million for Pacquiao?
                      10 Million for Cotto?

out of 38.45 or 32.94 million dollars IF THEY SELL 1 MILLION P.P.V BUYS?

I CAN GO FURTHER BUT I THINK YOU GET THE PICTURE.

                      THE NUMBERS DONT ADD UP!!
Your numbers are off. Arum can not enforce the 27% on his own caqrd. See the Ali Act. Also, On Demand usually takes 50 cents on the dollar of all PPV revenue for their services.
