Exactly. I figured it could either be a dance or tyson would lay him out flat. Tyson was afraid to even throw punches after he hit him in the first round. It was so evident Tyson was holding back. But you know what? I'm starting to think about this philosophically and if people are that gullible well it's entertainment right?

I remember reading Breadman's last bag (or may be second last) in which he was talking about this fight and he mentioned "what if Tyson clips him on the chin"? I had to chuckle and even posted that all of Tyson's last few fights were sold on that premise "what if Tyson clips him on the chin" but unfortunately Mike Tyson that could clip someone on the chin has been gone for a very long time.

Of course, to sell the fight, they had to put out "credible" stories from boxing's insiders, all of which amounted to the same thing "he looks good in training, he could clip Jake on the chin and knock him out in a round or two" but it was all a mirage just like it was before the Danny Williams fight and Kevin McBride fight 20 years ago.

Sometimes writers donīt do their homework. Tyson was very sick in June. He was unable to train properly. He still had good cardio and Jake was unable to finish him and seemed very tired too. If Tyson would not have been sick just 5 months ago, he would have fought better, maybe not for winning but better. Four years ago he displayed good athleticis and beat Roy Jones clearly, the latter being a bit younger. So instead of bashing old timers, praise the good things he did, including looking good for the beach, better than Jake.

Yeah, that fight against Roy…someone forgot to tell Mike it was only an exhibition. Haha Jones looked visibly scared. Lol Gotta consider, also, that their meeting was exactly four years ago. As someone who’s Tyson’s age, I can assure you that at this stage four years can make a huge difference in athletic performance. It can make a big difference between 36 and 40. Just imagine 54 and 58. I’ve seen videos lately of people comparing Mike’s combinations from his heyday to now, saying that it proves the fight was rigged. Really? You can’t make this ish up.

Tyson wasn't throwing hard punches against Roy. He was aiming at the body with ridiculously fake punches most of the time. Roy has been KO'd hurt badly and KO'd by much lesser punchers than Tyson. Roy was fat and slow and had no reflexes when he fought Tyson. Do you honestly think Roy and Tyson were trying to hurt each other? That was a true exhibition. The Tyson VS Paul fight was real punches being thrown. It looked very different than the RJ fight where there was inside fighting and they weren't too concerned about getting exhausted or KO'd. In the Tyson vs Paul fight the 2 minute rounds were in place to prevent Mike from gassing to badly and consequently getting hurt or KO'd but even those 2 minute rounds weren't enough from Tyson getting tired and hurt at times. After the first 1 1/2 rounds Mike was just trying to make it to the end of the fight and hoping maybe he'd have a chance to get in a clean hard punch..., which he had barely had the energy or balance to do.

Tyson was really shot in this most recent fight but he wasn't much better in the Jones fight. Roy was just a terrible, shot, out of shape opponent too AND they were punching exhibition style, not punching to damage each other.

I disagree. In the earlier fight, it appeared to me that Mike was going at it real, while Roy was all like, “Bro, it’s just a show!” But I largely agree on the JP fight. I think Tyson was just shot. He threw maybe a half-a-round’s worth of real punches. After that he was lost. Jake could’ve embarrassed him and put his lights out by as early as the third round. But Paul showed some class and played on the exhibition aspect. As a whole, the broadcast was great. People focus on the farce that was the main event, but two of the undercards were splendid. Paul versus Tyson was just for fun, as far as I was concerned. If you took it too seriously, then that’s on you.
