In the lead to the fight, Netflix showed 3 episodes of MT and JP. I must say how sad the arse kissing from both of their teams. When Mike was doing pads, the clown holding the pad was going WOW and making faces as if he just won the lottery hitting a stationary target. Didn’t they realize Mike walks like Joe *****?

Then you have the JP team talking like he was the GOAT. Another arse kisser was untiing the laces of his shoes in the dressing room, so Jake could put them on.

I really like this writer but by writing about it you are only adding to the problem. The reason you are writing about it is very questionable too. You know it will get clicks so why continue to publicise this circus?

I learned the Netflix production looked excellent. It was like watching an NFL game with the graphics and special effects and pomp. What I also learned is Netflix also underestimated the popularity of this sport and boxing ad a whole when you make it “free” (relative in the era of streaming) for everyone to see. Netflix needs to either reassign someone or give them their separation papers for just how appallingly bad the buffering was last night. However, that aside, it is clear that if you offer compelling fights that capture attention, people will watch. If promoters actually do their jobs and promote fight cards as well as fighters, people will watch. If the fights are actually accessible to American fans rather than being on some obscure app like dazn no Americans have, people will watch. Two of the fights were barnburners that had people texting me left and right from all over the USA, a couple I have not spoken to since my Army days. Netflix clearly needs to work on its logistics and how to sustain a fight card over the course of streaming but if they are to fix that, I totally see a future with Netflix and the sport of boxing in the USA. Going to dazn will effectively kill it. Amazon and PBC is trying but as of yet hasn’t really captured the casual fan base. I think both PBC and Top Rank should be speaking with Netflix if they arnt already….especially if the vast majority of cards can stream for free rather than ppv

Wouldn't that be a dream if Top Rank and Pbc teamed up in Amazon and Netflix. That's just what boxing needs.
