  • Comments Thread For: Mike Tyson sparring partner believes Jake Paul Is underestimating Tyson

Many fans might not yet know Mike Russell, the Petaluma-based cruiserweight who's now spent two training camps with Mike Tyson over the past four years--including the current one, leading up to Tyson's upcoming fight against Jake Paul.

"Many fans might not yet know...".

Yet?! This mafk is 32 years of age and, according to Boxrec, an inactive cruiserweight with a record of 5-1.

We'll never hear of him, I can't even remember his name & I'm looking at it right now ffs.

If he's in Tyson's camp, he must bring at least something to the table.

The Paul Brothers are not smart. They are not nice, truly a bunch of scammers... But they are extremely egotistical and re just smart enough to never underestimate anybody. Frankly I am suprised this fight is happening, if it does happen...

There is either a gentleman's agreement between Tyson and Paul, in which case we will get a fix, and/or a sparring match, or Pau actually believes he can avoid Tyson for a few rounds and cruise later... I truly cannot accept this second possibility knowing the Paul brothers... I would hate to be right but expect a last minute pull out (highly unlikely at this point) with a rescheduled opponent for the future, or,a civilized dance between these two.

IF the fight actually proceeds? Tyson will knock Paul out by the 4th round, I would bet on the outcome... No way Paul can take Tyson's punch with 2 minute rounds. 3 minute rounds would be different. mike can lock and load and cruise to a second wind. And I virtually know Paul knows this...

I know. It was the journalist's sentence with which I was taking issue, not the sparring partner himself.

Edit: the sparring partner just happened to catch a couple unfortunate strays lol

If Mike was ten years younger and in the shape he is now then I'd say yeah he might blast Paul but at 58 with health problems he's had recently aswell I just can't see it happening

Ok, you made your point but what happens if he does? STFU afterwards!

With a record of his opponents being 26-65-6 having not fought since 02/26/21 Michael Russell words are garbage and don't mean a GDT! GTFOH

They are promoting this fight really well. Hell, my cleaning lady told me the other day she is watching the fight. I have known her for 5 years and she never mentioned any interest in boxing.

Iron Mike Tyson @ 58 and some 20 years away from competitive boxing, STILL a big draw! Oh and there's also Jake what's his name.
