Comments Thread For: Netflix, boxing and MVP: A one-night stand or the start of a beautiful relationship?

Jake Paul had a vision of fighting Mike Tyson, and the long, strange trip led him - and his Most Valuable Promotions - to a first-of-its-kind deal with Netflix. Will we see more?

If Netflix was serious about boxing, this is not the kind of fight they would be promoting.

Netflix had a hotdog eating special with Kobayashe vs Joey Chestnutt. This is basically a boxing equivalent of that, I don't get why Hulk Hogan isn't at this spectacle escorting Mike or Jake Paul into the ring or better yet have Hogan and Flair with both boxers as advisors...

Netflix seems a weird fit for live sports in general but you cant scoff at the potential exposure it brings. If it can become a somewhat regular thing for actual serious fights as well it'll probably be a very good thing for the sport.

I'm hoping Tyson doesn't get seriously hurt.
This event a disgrace to real boxing.

Unfortunately, they're probably only trying to be serious about the business of boxing so there's no shame in the game & a way in is a way in *sigh*.

That last paragraph was exactly right. If all boxing goes to dazn then the sport disappears even more from American eyes. Going to Netflix going to Amazon and going to discovery at walk good options. The vast majority of Americans don’t have dazn, they do have Netflix and Amazon. Any boxing on either of those will reach far more people to rebuild the sport and make no mistake, boxing needs rebranding and rebuilding in the USA. It needs to be seen by American sports fans
