  • Comments Thread For: 'Bam' Rodriguez won't lose until he moves up too far in weight, says promoter

Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez has accomplished a lot in less than three years. He went immediately from being a flyweight prospect to becoming a junior bantamweight titleholder. He took out two of the "Four Kings" of 115, moved back down to 112 to add another world title and returned three pounds north to defeat the third king - and seized the lineal throne in the process.

The guy is one of the most skilled I've seen. I say he is almost as skilled as Loma.
I wished Nakatani and Inueo would be at 115 to see an evenly match vs Bam.

That would really suck , Bam deserves his own headline events. I don't think that he needs to piggyback on Boots to draw fans. Eddie would be making a mistake to do that .

Eddie doesn't fancy his chances at 118 vs. Nakatani, but won't say it. He's playing the same safety first game with Bam that he's playing with Boots. Mentioning 97 year old Chocolatito is cowardly. Mention Fernando Martinez at 115 or Nakatani at bantemweight.

Chocolatito is still one of the best fighters anywhere around that weight. 2 years ago at 35, he put an absolute beating on the 27 year old Julio Cesar Martinez. He's not been in the ring in two years, but he's been in the gym working hard. Bam has already said he wanted Puma, but Puma needs to get past Ioka again. The real coward is you, hiding behind your computer screen. If you don't have the balls to get in the ring yourself, you have no business calling someone who does, a coward.

Chocolatito fought not long ago at home in Nicaragua. He looked pretty good. He fought Rober Barrera in July , got the stoppage in the tenth.

Calling out 38 year old past-their-prime on-their-way-out-the-door fighters when you're P4P is beyond cowardly. That's directed at Eddie, not Bam. Eddie will try to keep Bam nice and safe like he does with Boots. Let's see if Bam goes for it or not.

Either the Martinez fight should be next or Nakatani at 118. Anything else is a joke.

I was calling Eddie a coward, not Bam. Try reading for context next time, or is that above your pay grade?

I don't disagree that Eddie isn't all that. But you're disrespecting Chocolatito, and you don't even have the balls to step in the ring yourself. We've all already seen you disrespecting Bam and the legends he's beaten on numerous occasions before as well. Not surprised you're trying to spin it to make like you weren't trying to disrespect Bam AND the great fighters he's beaten, but everyone knows that's what you're doing.

Not to mention, what Eddie said was that he's open to any unification with any of the champs who are willing to fight Bam. That includes Puma. Eddie has said that's the fight they want already, so you're also just straight lying. You don't understand the words: "For Bam, I love the Puma Martinez fight. I want to see Bam win all the belts in the division. I also like the Chocolatito fight, I think it’s a great fight, idols become rivals kind of stuff". Or is that above your pay grade? Everyone on Bam's side has been very clear that they're chasing as many belts as possible at 115, then moving up to 118 after 2-3 fights, and that Chocolatito is a good backup option if the other champs are too chicken to fight Bam. Which is true. He's clearly the best option if none of the champs want to fight.
