According to the rules of boxing Gypsy Belly was TKO'd. He was leaning against the ropes defenseless but he was not off his feet with the ropes holding him up. If a count was given each time the ropes prevented a fighter from falling over backwards there would be 10 knockdowns in every round. He was legitimately stopped and the referee gave him a second chance

A very, very important fight for his legacy.

Being bounced off the floor like a basketball by Wilder, holding the linear title hostage due to inactivity, ******ity playing around with a harmless MMA champion, and dropping a squeaker to the skilled and resourceful Usyk can all be overlooked, and will be; if Fury regains the title in style.

But if he loses this rematch; he sinks clearly below the real great ones forever.

        It's just like that.
Could not agree more. Fury will forever be recognized by those in the know as extremely talented. Can he show the real pluck to take it home? This is his fight to lose... Usyk has options. If Usyk does lose he at least beat Fury once, then there is the possible rubber match. This fight might be exciting, or anticlimatic, but it will be interesting and it will make history.

Doesn't "TKO" imply a fighter is unable to continue? If a fighter is knocked down and falls, versus is against the ropes, does this indicate he should be stopped? Fury seemed to want to try to avoid being dropped and was in full control of his faculties otherwise, the proof being the continuation of the fight.

For this stylistic matchup Usyk had to be the pressure fighter. It’s very difficult to box someone with fury’s dimensions. I’m not saying Usyk is going to square up and try to walk down fury, but he will be using his feet, feinting, cutting angles and being aggressive like he did the first fight. However this time with the assurance that he can hurt fury. When you know you can hurt and guy and take his power, you can press harder.

There is no way this would be anything like Fury - Wilder rematch. You just cant rush to Usyk and try to knock him out.

I agree Fury wanted to avoid being dropped but I'm sure he would have been if the referee hadn't efffectively given him a standing 8 count, which only exists in amateur boxing. A competent referee either would have let Fury continue if he was fit to do so - in which case Usyk would have continued hammering him - or stopped the fight if it was dangerous for him to continue

The biggest change that Fury must made is that he has to stop clowning around and keep his hands up against Usyk. He is at the age where at 36 his reflexes aren't the same as they were when he was in his 20s or even early 30s. Jab, lean on Usyk more, use his size and bully Usyk. Losing a few more pounds won't hurt him either. We will see when fight night comes, if he can make simple adjustments to win the fight against Usyk.
I agree. If Fury can concentrate for 12 rounds instead of clowning around and celebrating "how easy it is" he can win this one. He definitely has the tools to beat Usyk - he showed it in the first fight. Of course, easier said than done because Usyk is relentless and has that incredible engine that just keeps going and going until the other guy is exhausted. Can't wait to see what happens in the rematch.
