The bar has going down so low that a guy that only fight old past their prime fighters, and domestic level boxers while avoiding without a shame his most dangerous opponents is considered great.
So Canelo is a well managed boxer that was made for money and not legacy? Canelo, BY FAR, has the best resume in boxing and is one of the greatest Mexican boxers of all time, if not the best.

Please, are we doing this again? Resume? I agreed that compare to his contemporaries is decent, but Usyk and beterbiev had faced better competition, and won. If not mention the killers canelo has face and win, without controversy, boxers over 35yo are not allowed because if ginger is old at 33yo, 35yo is ancient, please go ahead and mention those names, if not don't bring resume no more.

I know it doesn't instantly make you a star because you require additional qualities. I did point that out in some other posts here, but I DO think Benavidez has them. Or at least if he had more chances to show up, folks would attach to him. He does speak loud and proud during the interviews and for most casuals where that is as far as they go to see a boxer's personality and it would help him.

I know Bivol didn't become a star, but he did boost his stock tremendously. Especially for the Canelo haters. They flocked to Bivol for what he did. Though this is going off track really. I'm still trying to see who has star quality drawing power when Canelo is out and the dust settles.

I love Usyk and Beterbiev but they have not faced better competition than Canelo. At all.

Haven't even seen anyone replacing Once Upon A Time Thurman. Let alone Mexican superstar Face Of Boxing Canelo Alvarez.

You just said without controversy when it came to Canelo but Beterbievs win over Bivol was very controversial. With that being said, GGG, Jermell, and Cotto.

I think Chechen Artur’s success will push more of those Mountain Russians into boxing

Mountain Russians are tough and master wrestlers. MMA has been soaking up all of the Mountain Russian talent

People find Alvarez funny because he’s a famous great fighter

the biggest stars are talkers who beat other greats

one can become the PPV king without being the most exciting style
I disagree with being more concerned about celeb than boxer he has a big social media following but has gone for big fights when he didn't need to. Boxers with star power like his name, their promoters would not usually put them in with Tank or Haney at the time they did, and instead try to marinate those fights for years instead. Those fights vs Tank and Haney happened because Garcia demanded they happened and stood firm them were the ones he wanted .more of these fighters need to demand that but most are ok with going along with their promoters plans to avoid big name fights and to let them marinate and hope theyre a lot bigger in future

It works both way, beterbiev or bivol, who won doesn't really matter because they both were equals. You're hypocrite, ggg was past his prime and win the first fight hands down, canelo was on peds and got caught right around his fights with ggg, and You're counting that as a good win, cotto? How old he was? And still gave him a great fight, and you most be kidding bringing charlo to this conversation. What it shows is, canelo has never beat an elite guy in his prime without controversy, he even had problems with past their prime greats, see floyd, ggg and cotto. Numbers don't lie.
