Comments Thread For: Focus on what Campbell Hatton is, rather than what he is not

During the broadcast, Andy Lee started going off on a tangent about how the sons of accomplished fighters are never the equal of their fathers.
There was an awkward silence from the other commentators and the. Shortly after that Lee began praising Campbell for his mettle and effort. At the time I wondered if someone on the Matchroom team slipped Andy a note not to be too critical.
Anyway, there are plenty of active fighters that are either equal to or nowhere near as good as Campbell. What they don't get is the media exposure, promotional push, hype and benefit of the judges...I think that's why people are so critical of guys like Campbell and Nico Ali-Walsh.
If Campbell wants to continue as a fighter, God bless him. I don't have an issue with it and but I understand those that do.Comment

It might be a good time for young Hatton to fly under the radar . Before all this he was put on a show by Hearn , in his first fight as a pro , televised , for the good of the promoters show! He's proved he's got guts and mettle , give him time , good luck kid.Comment

This kid is being promoted wrong. Let him develop instead of throwing in the spotlight. Eddies greedy a$$ gonna ruin this kid. Fish eyes would do a good job with him. Eddies more of the glitz and glam type, Fish eyes develops the better product.Comment

Someone probably mentioned that he got iced by Chavez Jr so it probably didn’t reflect too well on him to be taking that line.During the broadcast, Andy Lee started going off on a tangent about how the sons of accomplished fighters are never the equal of their fathers.

Campbell didn’t have to sign with Matchroom. He could have gone the small hall route if he wanted to. After he chose to sign with Matchroom and take the exposure he couldn’t then expect to build a 30-0 record fighting stiffs for ages like his Dad did.

While we are at it, let's focus on what Tim Tzsyu is and not what he isn't as well as Dubois, Wilder, and the Congo man. Perhaps we could enjoy some fighters more if we quit talking about their historical competition, resume, and how Bud could tear them apart.Comment
