Comments Thread For: The Beltline: Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen must remember to switch back every seven days

When watching British heavyweights Johnny Fisher and Dave Allen talk so respectfully at a press conference, there was very much a sense of old version and new version; or an upgraded model coming face to face with its prototype.

The only really significant thing they have in common is Johnny will probably be a solid domestic undercard attraction for years to come much like Dave once was.

But in terms of discipline, power, athleticism etc Johnny is clearly on a different level. Hes going to dispatch of Dave very quickly most likely.

OK, I've been the first to criticise Mr Worsell, but that was an enjoyable article. There is a problem that boxing often isn't something to laugh about & I don't know that Dave Allen competing is that funny. Yes, you could see Dave Allen as Yorkshire's answer to Randall 'Tex' Cobb, another big guy with limited skills but a GSOH, who took his beatings with a ready quip but Cobb had an iron chin & never got knocked out. Allen has been knocked out over again. I'm not a neurosurgeon but I'm reasonably sure this can't be doing the man any good at all.
