Are the Saudi’s beginning to tighten the purse strings?

That Usyk-Fury 2 undercard is pretty cheap. Especially compared to previous Saudi cards.

Wilder-AJ went up in smoke, Fury-AJ for undisputed went up in smoke, they reportedly lost big on Crawford-Madrimov etc.

    Thoughts?

They got almost all the fights made that were held by promotional rivalry. Really think about it now and what fight other than Canelo/Benavides is coveted in a major scale.

Plus they hope some of the fighters came out with victories and there were many upsets that derailed bigger plans.

They already have. Bud only got paid 2.5m for Madrimov and since they lost 10m on that card, you see they're not doing the full card of main event level fights anymore.

There were some rumors this was happening. I long expected it and it kind of makes sense. The money that they are paying these Fighters does not make sense. It's just not generating revenue or ratings or anything. The problem is is that boxing purses are too high and they need to come down substantially. Until promoters stop over paying these guys for no reason the sport cannot be fixed

You just shattered your credibility as a poster in this forum. No way Crawford would accept $2.5 million from any promoter let alone from Turki.

The Saudis aren't a real promotional company so they don't care about making a profit. Those dudes just want to make the fights they want and to be given praise at each event they make. The usyk-fury co main is good with madrimov but idk about the other fights. Let's see what happens when Riyadh season is over and what they have for next year

Just some high school girl gossip

                  Moses Itauma vs Demsey McKean
                  Johnny Fisher vs Dave Allen
                  Israil Madrimov vs Serhii Bohachuk
                  Dennis McCann vs Peter McGrail
                  Isaac Lowe vs Lee McGregor

Not the worst card ever, Moses is a prospect to watch, Fisher vs Allen will be a KO one way or the other, and Madrimov vs Boha is a quality fight.

Yeah I think that's a big reason why guys only fight once a year now. Good for them that they can earn so much from one fight, but now us fans don't get to see guys in the ring 3-4 times a year anymore. Careers move so damn slow nowadays.
