I'm guessing that since Charlo seems to be in the lower half of the author's rankings at 154, that would make Castano a gatekeeper for the moment, at least.
    Just a hunch.

Eddie Hearn needs to get Ennis to the 154lb. division ASAP! There's absolutely noting going on @ 147! Where's Stanionis??? Boots vs. Vergil needs to happen ASAP!

What are you trying to do start trouble around here with your idea of who should fight who and why ? Match making is not done in heaven it is done by promoters and platforms that could care less about anything but protecting there fighters and their own interests. 154 is a nice division just because of the weight class but so is 175 or 118 all weight classes are interesting and would be a lot more interesting if they matched men up with good competition. Not talking sending young fighters to the slaughter but solid match making, it happens by accident more so then by design these days. Nothing wrong with a good challenge in boxing.......... but that often gets lost in the hype.

It would be great any of those combinations. Crawford isn't fighting anyone that is not a star or without Saudi money, Charlo is yet to fight again, Murtazaliev is good but gets hit good and Lubin got a gift against Ramos.

Yet that division is wide open and there are a bunch of matchups worth watching.

So many fights, so many fighters....

And I bet 2025 sees maybe 2 great fights at 154 and everyone else just fights scrubs or has beens. Just a wild guess as a jaded boxing fan.

I think I've seen enough Jarrett Hurd after his last fight lol. I think he's only capable of doing just enough for a draw.

there's no way Hurd can make154 anymore - he's had 2/3 fights at 160 and looks like he struggles to make that

Hasn't fought since loss to Charlo in 2022, so age + inactivity kinda explains his dropping off the radar.
I could have sworn he was 29 when he fought Charlo 2nd time
