Comments Thread For: Too many IBF leading contenders don't merit any ranking, let alone mandatory status

The rankings and policies of the International Boxing Federation [IBF] have come into sharp focus in recent months because of the sanctioning body enforcing nonsensical mandatories and kyboshing undisputed championships in the process.

The IBF dart board is a well used deciding factor in these matters. The only thing more important is the shot glasses that get filled and emptied repeatedly prior to the actual dart throws.

The best organisation. They're all trash but IBF have 1 belt and enforce mandatories, that automatically makes them way better than the WBC and WBA.

I do not get why not more Top 10-5 boxers go for the IBF mandatory position, it is clearly the easiest one and with the organisation that enforces the mandatory the stricktest... Like why didn't Benavidez, Morrel or Buatsi go for the IBF instead of the other belts... they would have gotten the first shot at Beterbiev...

Do you work for the ibf? They are the worst and that’s saying something

Maybe it’s time for Boxing to ignore the ibf .Let’s consider a boxer undisputed if he gets the other 3 belts . Starve the ibf.

Stopped reading after their complaints about heavyweight. Hrgovic was mandatory after he got the decision over Zhang. Dubois beat Miller then he beat the guy who was already the damn mandatory. That's more than enough.

They sure do enforce mandatories. That’s why Hergovic waited 2.5 years for his mandatory. Whoever is responsible for ranking fighters at that sheet hole corrupt organization must be a complete baffon. Bring back the government monitor due to their unbelievable

Lmao...the ibf, like em or not, enforce their mandatories. Wbc doesn't do ah.it about theirs and the wb would rather create fake belts for their organization. Not sure what the wbo does.

The purpose of mandatories is not to "progress the career of the champion". That's what unifications are for. Mandatories are there to guarantee that any fighter can fight his way up the rankings and ultimately ger a title shot, even if they cant sell 250,000 buys, or dont have the right promoter. The reason some of these mandos are weak, is because either the other top contenders already hold another organizations title, or they refuse to fight a #1 or #2 eliminator.
