Why isn’t there a new Mike Tyson ?

Every generation there's a Boxer that is a like another Boxer from a previous generation. For example Sugar Ray Leonard was like the new Ali and Roy Jones was like Ali as well. Til this day there isn't a Boxer that is like Mike Tyson in Boxing style. Pressure fighters still exist but fighters with the peek-a-boo head movement style and first round aggression is hard to find especially in the heavyweight division why is that ?

Beterbiev or GGG would have been considered that if they were born in Americs

Maybe because there isn't another Cus D'Amato? Great coaches are far and few between. It also takes great discipline to make it to the top and be a dominant force like Tyson. Each new generation of American men are getting softer and lazier. Either that or they are going into other sports. There are fewer and fewer boxing gyms in the U.S. than ever before. I'm not talking about those franchise Title Boxing gyms for suburban housewives, but true, gritty boxing gyms for amateur and pro boxers.

Could be a size thing too..

His style works much better for shorter fighter. Heavyweights today are bigger in general, a big Heavyweight in Mike's era is an average Heavyweight today...

There's simply not many men Mike's size in Heavyweight boxing and anyone that is short probably isn't being trained to use his style. They're probably trained to be more of a "mover" to use their smaller size and speed as an advantage to outbox much bigger men of today rather than try to seek and destroy.

Unless you're exceptional at using that style, these giant Heavyweights will just lean all over you. That's why I think smaller Heavyweights today probably favour trying to outbox bigger men and develop a style for it.

He wasn’t defensive or elusive as Tyson

Nobody wants to use peekaboo anymore it’s too difficult a style to master.

Tyson was a genetic freak, you can’t compare anybody recent to him.

That speed was hard to match for a big man. And head movement was great.
Tyson was hard to hit, hit hard, hit fast and great combinations and good footwork. THats all i think he had, i dont know how much boxing knowledge he had, seemed to look samey, not sure how much Tyson can teach?.
I dont think tyson is a Usyk type genius type, just more athletic.
