Nationalism is a brain disease. Fight whomever you can make the most money or win a title against. Period.

Interestingly, British fighters don't have that at all. Quite the contrary. They call a fight between two British fighters 'Battle for Britain' and sell out Wembley. Maybe that's why Britain is ahead of the rest of Europe in boxing.

The Brits do seem to have the most vibrant boxing culture in the world right now. Maybe on par with Mexico, but I don't have a good window on the Mexican scene.
That's my perception from stateside, anyways.
Do we ever see American boxing fans singing Sweet Caroline (or anything else, for that matter) in raucous unison?
        [HINT: nope]

          That's right.
Britain won't suffer if and when Dillion Whyte fights Joe Joyce - only the fans will.

That's a really good question. Maybe someone who lives in Mexico can enlighten us.

Always seemed to me that the best fighters in Mexico fight in the us because the Mexican American fan base is more nationalistic and will pay more to be reminded of Mexico than their Mexican relatives

Mexico does have it but in certain areas, since its big and diverse. The US hosts the Mexican boxing scene more.
