You said he arguably beat Floyd. What does Cotto saying that have anything to do with the fact it was a clear 9-3 fight?

Doing it in 7 divisions is harder than 4 or 5 divisions
Pac had no real opps at the lower weights
If there was money to be made down there, he would have stayed.

Pac landed the far cleaner punches in the fight. The gulf in quality was vast. Floyd was struggling to land anything clean starting in round 3. Grazing shots, touches, and push offs were about it. Pac rocking Floyd's head around with hard shots. I've watched it in detail and playback shows pac landing the better punches in not only quality but quantity in 7 rounds, Floyd 3 and 2 very close in quantity and quality.

It was certainly a bad decision if you watch it again, but people just didn't like the way pac fought and expected more. They knew Floyd would fight safety first so they just assumed he was winning since it was slow paced, but he wasn't. The beauty of low standards. The commentary was terrible as well and probably influenced a lot of people into thinking Floyd wasxdoing better than he actually was, and when you combine that with the onus being on pac to do something special and overwhelm Floyd, you get the guy who didn't actually land thr better punches winning.

For the life of me I can’t understand how this became about Mayweather vs Pacquiao. This was supposed to be a discussion about Mayweather moving up to fight Beterbiev…. Smh…

Any thread that goes long enough will eventually become about Mayweather/Pacquao.
