so if bivol was black what would have happened to him?
LDBC to interview Bivol's Ex-Wife, aiming to call out domestic violence double standards for black/non-blacks.

Can we also talk about the double standard of believing the accusers? The LDBC is quick to believe an accusation when the accused is non-black (Kovalev, Bivol, Andy Ruiz) but always seem to have excuses for Tank, Floyd, Wilder, and other black fighters. Even when said fighters have evidence, witnesses, and even videos stacked against them.
This sounds like more fragility from the segment of boxing that thrives on race-baiting and victimhood.Comment

Suddenly the guys that hate wife beaters don’t anymore. Reminds me of when Kov beat his chick.
Sad that certain posters are still like this.Comment

Whaddaya mean? How does one think Bivol developed such a great jab.... Seriously though, this is right on and correct. When i hear of such things it makes me sad, not wanting to blame someone...Comment

well to be fair mayweather and many others has been called a woman beaters for years with no proof outside of what the woman says, no marks or bruises....but to get a mans ex wife or girl on the phone to discuss their business is low and not cool imo... but dana white, kov, etc were given a straight pass so i get itLast edited by uppercut510; 10-15-2024, 03:09 PM.Comment

Domestic violence is not a function of race, never has been. It is a function of economic classism. People who do not learn to express themselves, educate themselves, or otherwise are unable to control themselves do horrible things like this. Boxers come up from this class of individuals, hence, the behavior. Im gonna share something with you BD, My old man was a Marine in the second world war, 16 (lied about his age) watching his best friend from the Bronx get his head blown off... Shell shocked, scarred with malaria. My dad achieved many things but he had a really bad temper, I will not say out of respect IF he ever hit my mother, but he came at me that way... and I kn ow he loved me, that was not what this is about.
I just do not think this is about race and accountability. Unless we are talking about the deliberation of Hollywood and those who carry the mantle like P Diddy, that might be different, though frankly? Any man that has to do that is damaged... Even if one gets jollies off from that, one can role play it without harming another human being.
Would one ask "why are black crackaddicts considered bad while ******* users from wh ite middle class households are considered less bad?" Yes they would and immediately we can see how pathetic this question really is. Anyone with drug addiction is struggling...Comment

Arrested without evidence... Guilty as charged without a trial... Thrown to the Lions ...
Seriously though, Ekaterina said court was happening soon for the divorce, so let's see... I'm sure we'll hear from it... That said, here in Canada both Parents have the obligation to give the necessary care to the children on equal parts until the case is settled. Then it's a ratio on the revenus which says who pays what ... Something Bivol doesn't seem understand... She's wealthy on her own ( and was when Bivol met her), so it's not like she can't provide the kids with all they need...The Domestic Violence case would be a separate thing here in Canada...Comment

I definitely think there is some double standard, but I don't know if this is it.
Of course a superstar athlete from America is going to be covered more than non-Americans, that nobody knows.
99% of Americans don't know who the hell Dmitry Bivol is, even after he beat Canelo
A big part of the problem is is that there are no superstar White American boxers, so we can't really have an apples to apples situation.
If say Rocky Marciano was in 2024 & was arrested for DV, you'd better believe TMZ would cover it.Comment

Bivol beating his wife was such a mainstream story that the LDBC didn't even know about it until Bivol's wife was live streaming during the fightI definitely think there is some double standard, but I don't know if this is it.
