  • I thought Bertabiev won rounds 3, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11 & 12...thats 7 rounds to 5 or 115 - 113 in Bertabiev's favor.

But a draw or 115 - 113 the other way wouldn't have been a robbery. I like Bivol's comments "I fight...judges gave their opinion." Fighters fighting and not whining...love the concept.

Will be interesting to see what's next. Rematch? Or Benavidez-Morrell winner vs Bertabiev for the title?

    • There’s no doubt that Bivol won that.

Is Bivol a ******? Huh.. that I didn't know. I think you could be wrong on this one buddy but anyhow, even Beterbiev wasn't content with his perfomance ,in a way even admitted Bivol was better and you could see instant relief face once the decision was given, even thanked 'Alah' for the decision. Maybe the fact hes ****** in a ****** country helped a bit isnt a crazy idea at all.

Hold on ,the word Mus-leem is banned? GTFOH

        This is ridiculous.

        • Not a robbery at all but I did have Bivol 115-113 in a toss up. Still not sure who's better so let's see it again!

          • Betting on boxing is always risky but this was not a robbery. Could it have gone Bivol's way or a draw? It is what it is. I'll lick my wounds and maybe bet the Mets over the dodgers.

Boxrec fans had it 114-114. Given how divided fans are on this forum, maybe that would have been the fairest outcome.

              • This was a good fight but definitely nothing close to a great fight. There were no fireworks, no knockdowns, neither fighter was badly hurt at any time, Bivol was on the back foot most of the fight, Beterbiev was the aggressor but really didn’t do anything out of this world.

Good fight but nothing even close to these: SRL v Duran, Hearns v Hagler, Gatti v Ward, Barrera v Morales, Marquez v Pac, Corrales v Castillo, Vasquez v Marquez III, I would even throw in Hamed v Kelly, Morales v Pac I, Tszyu v Hatton, Bradley v Providnikov, to name a few.

                • I thought Bivol edged it and the 116 scored card was on his side for sure when I heard it. Even Alashik’s face showed complete disappointment after the last bell, probably thinking his guy had lost. It makes me wonder if Beterbiev was the beneficiary of a little home-cooking, what with being of the same religion and all.

                  • Anybody mentioning a robbery must check the fight 2 o 3 times Beterbiew is a pitbull always coming forward controlling the ring and the fight basically chasing Bivol all over Bet is much stronger than the rest a freaking machine the rematch is coming soon with the same result or worst for Bivol..

IMO a few years ago Biev stops him. Biev still looks good and obviously hits too hard for anyone to deal with. Biev been saying for years he wanted Bivol but all Bivol did was talk. Props to Bivol for finally making the fight, though I'm certain the money was too good to pass up and he was praying Biev had lost a bit.

If I'm being honest I did see a bit of age on Biev and I'm not sure he will fight for much longer. Biev is leaving his prime and Bivol is in his prime. Biev stops him a few years ago IMO, but Biev isn't moving like a fresh young fighter anymore.

Still a monster, but no one wins the age battle in combat sports. A shame because Biev is just fun as hell to watch.
