Comments Thread For: The Beltline: Is Artur Beterbiev arrogant for not joining in on the fun?

Artur Beterbiev has faced criticism for spoiling the fun of Riyadh Season, becoming an apparent disruptor by virtue of his silence and stubborn reluctance to offer any more of himself than he deems necessary.

    why fighters should talk too

Because it makes you a fan favorite and draw

which increases the chances of a potentially either way decision going your way

"spoiling the fun of Riyadh Season"

        WTF does that even mean?
        Eff Riyadh Season.

The man is there to fight, not be a talk show guest.
Leave him the eff alone and let him prepare for his fight.
Wow, this Turki shee-it show is getting out of hand.

Leave the dude alone. He is steadfast in who he is and has made it clear this is business only. He's not here to make friends or party. I'm sure after the interview or whatever he went back to train and then went straight to bed. More fighters with big mouths should follow his example.

You have absolutely found a way to sum up my awkward feelings on this social media age in a way I have been trying to , poorly, for years. I appreciate that and intend to steal this simple and incredibly true thought from you.

I also appreciate the authors last paragraph. The thing Eddie is bitching about is the reason I have been such a huge fan of Beterbiev for so long. He is authentic. In a world of plastic frauds, win or loss I appreciate a man true to his own self. It is rare.

What happened to the time when promoters promoted and the fighters fought? It's THEIR job to hype the fight and the fighters job to perform in the ring!

Lol I mean what did they expected? They Russians ffs ,not exactly known to have the greatest personalities them more like stoic, composed, cold mofos. Besides,This is the Hurt Business not stand up comedy im sure they'll do all the talking with em fists(hopefully lol).

One thing is true, this fight is not being talked about as much as you would expect from a fight of this magnitude except for the Hardcore Diehards, other than that almost nobody talking about it.

The author makes a good point but it’s a cheap shot (yet another) to blame this somehow on the Saudis and Turki. GGG showed the same arrogance and unhelpful attitude during the third fight with Canelo: he was surly with interviewers and repeatedly refused to answer questions without an interpreter - and the Saudis had nothing to do with that promotion. GGG knew he had already accomplished what he wanted to accomplish: get the guaranteed money of a cash-out third fight against Canelo. Beyond that, he didn’t care a bit about promoting the fight or even winning it
