If anybody actually believes that PBF-JMM is promoted 100% by Mayweather promotions, tell them I have a bridge to sell.

Well alot of people actually believe steve kim even though he doesnt like Mayweather one bit, He was saying Mayweather-JMM is going to bomb PPV-wise and that Mayweather is the lead promoter so he doesnt see how Mayweather is going to get the $15m that people were claiming he would get.....We all know how that turned out..

There is a fighter who isn't signed with GBP, yet his fights are with Golden Boy. Forgot his name though.

GBP is basically his promoter but he is allowed to promote his fights under the Mayweather Promotions banner (even though there is no official promoters license in Nevada for this "Company")

GBP invested a lot of money into Mayweather from what I have heard and their year hinged on how well Sept 19th did so they were all relieved when it did better than expected numbers

what was Floyd's beef with Arum?

It starts with Arum owing Floyd a bunch of money form the Gatti fight, there is pending litigation going on the issue I beleive still (I have not heard differently anyways), Arum acknowledges that he owes Floyd a lot of money but is counter sueing over some issue.

Also Arum likes to talk **** about Floyd because Floyd got over on Arum big time, Arum prides himself on being the smartest man in the room so teh fact that somebody that no one respects as smart got the best of him really sticks in his craw.

If someone owed you money (even if it is just a belief) and talked **** about you constantly would you want to do business with that guy?

He is closely alligned with Golden Boy and they benefit from their relationship with each other. Being alligned with Floyd give Golden Boy the extra clout it needs in their stable with Oscar being gone, people say Floyd is no Oscar that is fine but if you have to replace Oscar at the top of the table Floyd is a good person to have do it.

Golden Boy knows how to promote a big fight and that takes a huge team which Floyd does not have, Golden Boy did an A-1 job on promoting the JMM fight that was the best promoted fight since Floyd-Oscar.

Floyd could dip out on Golden Boy if he wished but why would he? It would be cutting off his nose to spite his face.

Is he promoted by Golden Boy?

Yes and no. Golden Boy doesn't really sign fighters like Top Rank does, especially top level fighters. They'll lock prospects into contracts if they feel it's necessary, but veterans like Mayweather, Hopkins, Mosley, Wright, etc. aren't under contract but have working agreements that allow Golden Boy to co-promote their fights and negotiate on their behalf.

My understanding is that Mayweather got some type of bonus from Golden Boy that allows Golden Boy co-promotional rights over Mayweather's next five fights (including the Marquez fight). So, he's not signed to Golden Boy, but neither is Hopkins or Mosley. Mayweather's deal with Golden Boy is similar to Winky Wright's and David Haye's.
