Comments Thread For: Artur Beterbiev-Dmitry Bivol locks in Hall of Fame immortality for ... someone

International Boxing Hall of Fame electors received their 2025 ballots in the mail this week. The "modern" category page features one absolute sure-shot, slam-dunk, if-he-doesn't-get-voted-in-we-riot candidate in Manny Pacquiao. And it includes 41 other nominees who can't reasonably feel confident until the phone call from Ed Brophy comes.

Gvozdyk was a great win - he was seen as the 2nd best in the division when Artur beat him to unify and Bivol was 3rd best at the time

You can't be serious. The guy was a never even good in the first place. His best win a robbery decision vs Campillo, which he lost clearly.
And when he fought Beterbiev he was coming off 2 losses (3 really with the Campillo fight).

There's like 5 fighters on either Bivol's or Beterbiev's record which are better than Cloud and which you didn't list.

The problem with using the resume is that a lot of A-list fighters won’t get in the ring with a guy who is a serious threat. That leaves some truly excellent fighters with a record of knocking out a bunch of B-list people, and then the comment boards fill up with critics saying, “Yeah, he looks good -- against all his mediocre opponents.” They’ll even get accused of cherry-picking easy wins. A lot of people thought Canelo fought Bivol because he thought Bivol would not be difficult for him.

At this point, someone should probably tell boxeo that less is more.

Whats the fuss about Bivol ? Only because he beat Canelo ? Canelo has cement feet and mediocre cardio. Bivol is all cardio and movement and bigger. It was just a great stylistic matchup for Bivol but he's no HOFer.

You missed the point!!! They weren't talking about Bivol, they were talking about the WINNER of this fight and the winner is clearly HOF material.

Beterbiev will have to walk through helicopter blade punches to land his big shots, but he only needs one shot to the back of the head to discombobulate his opponents and send them to splattsville.

I can see bivol getting a razor tight decision, maybe controversial.....
