Comments Thread For: Artur Beterbiev, feeling young and finally healthy, ready to go 12 rounds against Dmitry Bivol

Staying healthy during the height of his career has been a painful process for Artur Beterbiev, but the three-belt light heavyweight champion is promising that he is repaired and prepared for his undisputed title fight against Dmitry Bivol on Saturday in Saudi Arabia.

Having had knee injuries personally, not feeling too reassured about Beteviev's movement in the ring, and he's going to need the best ring-cutting performance of his life against Bivol.

It would be interesting to know if there's been random testing for this fight and, if so, when it started.

I imagine placing a wager on this fight would be a fool's errand...

Bivol’s strategy against Canelo was ultra-high energy with a tremendous amount of movement. It appeared to me that Canelo became exhausted by trying to keep up.

in the long history of boxers versus sluggers, the boxers have typically done well. The key is to be able to take a hard punch when it comes. Beterbiev will certainly bring his heavy artillery. If Bivol can maintain his energy and movement, Beterbiev may simply tire to the point of being ineffective. Of course, Beterbiev can hit really hard, but Bivol has also shown the ability to take heavy shots without losing his cool or his foot movement.

Nobody can tell how this will play out, but I do like Bivol’s chances in the contest.

Beterbiev will go to Bivol's body, there's no doubt about that. Remains to be seen how his legs hold up if Artur keeps a sustained body attack. Wasn't Bivol noticeably bothered by a body shot against Lyndon? I can't remember but I feel like there was a moment.

Why wouldn't he be? He's enrolled in VADA.

Problem is, Beterbiev is a fantastic boxer with top tier ring IQ. He just hits so goddamn hard that most people don't realize it when they watch him.
