You know, i think back to when Arum complained about Crawford not making him any money.
It seems with all the FLOPS tank has made. No one complains about not making enough money. They just keep repeating the same bad decisions.
        Makes you wonder.

However, it’s the only way Davis can get the type of pay he wants. He has to go out and bet on himself.

Al Haymon doesn’t do high guaranteed upfront offers because technically speaking; He isn’t a promoter.

He can only offer a fighter a low guarantee and a high percentage of the fight’s revenue and gross. The fighters get their pay on the back end this way.

This way If the fight flops on pay per view then Haymon won’t have to assume any of the responsibility. He leaves that responsibility squarely on the fighter.

So it’s up to the fighters to go out and sell and promote their own fights. In order to receive the type of pay they want.
That's a smart move for Haymon. What I wonder is , what do fighters even need him for ? What exactly does he do for a fighter ? The best way for a fighter to run their career is the way that Mayweather eventually did. He ran his own business. Floyd was getting a piece of everything from the fight tickets , to the nachos , beer , and parking. These young cats instead of buying j ew elry that loses most of its value as soon as they buy it should be investing in themselves.

But getting fight fans to agree on much of anything is a long shot at best. everybody knows G.Davis is a manufactured undeserved PPV fighter.
The only PPV that I remember being seriously boycotted was the Roy Jones Jr versus Julio Gonzalez fight. A few of us from the old HBO Boxing Forum got together and created "THE ROYCOTT" . We wrote to everyone that we could think of , including the boxing press and it got noticed. The Roycott was the reason that RJJ came out with " Ya'll must've forgot". At that point , we had forgotten , Roy had been fighting a bunch of nondescript fighters and carrying them , his fights had gotten extremely boring. Nothing will change unless boxing fans not only boycott the fights but also make noise about it. If we boycott a fight and no one knows that we did , it's totally meaningless. The Roycott was just a handful of us but we were able to amplify it by using the press and boxing figures as a force multiplier.

People pay to see Tank and the opponent is unimportant. It’s the same with Canelo . They are making a profit therefore they do belong on ppv .

Except those guys actually have fighters ranked in their own divisions on their resumes. When Tank went to 140, he fought secondary titlist Mario Barrios and put a rehydration clause on him. Teo fought the top dog and took his lineal belt too. Loma has fought a ton of top guys in his time. Who's the best name on Tank's resume? Figure that out and tell me who's the fake tough guy.
