  • Canelo seems to be in Japan right now.

In the press conference he had stated he would like to fight there, with recent rumors stating he was already in talks to make it happen.

This picture seems to be relatively recent. Perhaps proving that the rumors were true.

However who would he be fighting? And who be in the undercard.

I mean the best option would be a ranked undefeated opponent like Christian Mbilli if possible. Let's hope they pull Ryota Murata out of retirement just to have a home grown opponent.

If Matchroom is involved, it be neat if the Co-Main and The card involved:

    Naoya Inoue vs Murodjon Akhmadaliev

Eduardo "Sugar" Sugar"vs Kenichi Ogawa or Masanori Rikiishi

Junto Nakatani vs Takuma Inoue Or Roman Gonzalez

Murata will be the perfect can opponent. It will be someone who offers ZERO risk, basically an exhibition.

What I meant to write is that Let's hope *NOT* they pull Ryota Murata out of retirement just to have a home grown opponent. But sadly that might be the reality of it considered that it was talked about prior his loss to GGG and retirement.

Always thought Murata was a alright fighter that was in the right time in the right place, Middleweight was a relatively weak division.

He must be miserable there, lol. He said in another interview that he hates traveling. If I had to guess, it's the wife making him go everywhere, lol. Well, when it's not the wife, it's obviously his promotional duties, but I respect that he said he doesn't like to travel and gave a face like, it wasn't his choice.

Canelo is hoping to fight Inoue. He’s willing to fight at a catchweight to make it happen. He said he’s willing to drain himself down to 167 lbs in order give the fans the fights they want.

Only because Bam Rodriguez is ducking him, though

Not going to lie, when I saw the headline I immediately thought they were going to get Murata out of retirement.
