Gato Figueroa Reacts to Cotto Camp Expulsion

Apparently is a personality issue with El Gato. Of course he can't say what it is cause he is not the one looking at himself. It sounds like a personal issue

he doesnt like the fact he was fired for sucking, tough ****, its Cotto's camp, he could do whatever he wants.

Off course he can do what ever he want's be he can also be professional about it.

Cotto has a funny camp, telling by having El Gato, and Ivan Calderon do impressions of Manny Pacman, thats your first sign that their ***ing around over there...

Ivan Calderon was just suggested and offered himself but never in Cotto's camp that I know of. Regarding El Gato, I beleive that Manny can't be equalized, but El Gato can at least try for a couple or 4 rounds. Same as Castillo won't be able to equalize Cotto.

Exactly!!! Speculations will end when they come out and explain what really happen and if they don'y the will be subject to more speculations.

It's easy to figure out. They caught Figueroa talking to the press and thats a big NO NO in Cotto's camp. No sparring partner in Cotto's camp is allowed to make comments to the press regarding their training and there is always the possibility that el Gato was not completely effective during the sparring sessions..... Nothing more, nothing less.
Besides, Cotto's camp is very professional and y el Gato is very ******. He's a Puerto Rican from the Bronx. Cotto probably didn't like his ******ness. LOL

Your 1st paragraph very well can sum up what happen but at this point it is just speculations.
I also agree that Cotto has been very professional on his boxing career (I even said it on my 1st post) but IF Fiqueroa is saying the truth, that is no sign of being professional at least in this matter.

if figueroa can't say what happend then why the hell did he give this interview. either say what happend or don't come at all. either he was beating cotto or cotto was easily beating him.

IF what Figueroa saying is true and no excuses were giving on why he got kicked out, it was very unprofessional. The man accepted go out there and help Cotto train and all of a sudden "just go home" with no reasons or explanations given is totally wrong.
Even after doing that (if it is true) to Figueroa (El Gato) he has been professional about his participation in Cotto's Camp, denying rumors that he knocked down Cotto while training and that Cotto is been well prepaired, showing class from his side. Others will be just talking trash.
I have followed Cotto's career and I'm a huge fan of his. The way Cotto approach Boxing business has always been very proffessional during his career but IF Figueroa was treated like described here it is truelly a failure from Cotto's team.

Treat people with respect so you can be respected, doesn't matter how big you are.

Once again IF this version is true. We are yet to hear the other side of the story.

i have to disagree here, this sh.t happens all the time in boxing. u have ur sparring fighters & u have guest sparring fighter that are brought in just to have a look at them & see if they work for the strategy ur gonna apply in the fight. el gato was a guest that got a hold of somebody from cotto's camp on twitter while he was in rome. so they told him to come down,& even el gato says that he even came earlier than asked too. so really,cotto aint gotta do **** if anything he made a little money off of him. maybe he just wasnt good enough & cotto being the classy guy not wanting to bash his reputation after just getting KO'd in his last fight & knowing hes got a fight coming soon he just let him go. plain & simple thx 4 ur help but no thx, did any of us ever hear cotto mention anything about even letting el gato go? no. & we never would have known if not for el gatos big mouth. so my boricua friend here the unprofessional is el gato. hes lucky he even got to go to tampa since he wasnt even called on.....trust me if he would have been good he would have stayed longer, but when ur a guest sparring partner u have to out due the invited ones & he didnt.....

Yes, my boricua friend we will have to agree to disagree on this one.
1st of all you mentioned a lot of good reasons that COULD OR MAYBEhappened in the camp that justifies that El gato should had been fired and yes it happens all the time with sparring partners but if you are firing somebody it is only PROFESSIONAL to tell the person why.

2nd Gato didn't start or released this to the press it was reported here on 10/14/2009 (see link below) with no information neither from Cotto or Gato and that's were the speculations started. After that Gato was so PROFESSIONAL that he came to this webite (see El Gato posts) and denied rumors generated by a dum poster here saying that El Gato had knocked down Cotto 3 times and even praised the way they are working with Cotto, when he could had easily ignore the post and say nothing. Beside the good thing he mentioned he did mention that he was not aware why he was kicked out. So it was not El Gato's big mouth and from now on until Cotto's camp say something the question will continue to be asked.

3rd. Yes he was invited to camp and it's the 2nd camp he is invited to, and if he did come early, that even shows more PROFESSIONALISM and willing to help.

Look on all my post I have said that this if IF it is true that El Gato was not informed why he was fired, because we have yet to hear Cotto;s camo version and it just leaves to speculation, but by what we so far have heard and the way the story is being told it is jus simple, fair, deservingly and above all PROFESSIONAL to tell a person why you are firing him.
