Gato Figueroa Reacts to Cotto Camp Expulsion

As was reported Wednesday by BoxingScene.com's T.K. Stewart, Miguel Cotto has sent Francisco "El Gato" Figueroa home after just a week of sparring at his Tampa, FL training camp. Three days later, the former NABF junior welterweight champion Figueroa still doesn't know why. [details]

Another one that needs to get over it and move on.

Why is everyone who's into boxing so emotional?

I'm amazed women who box aren't as popular.

"If a guy is throwing punches and makes me have to figure him out, that's good work. So I don't get it."

"They're boxing him, doing very well. We were all bringing different angles to Cotto. They were giving him what they needed to. The only difference with me was that I was applying more pressure."

Not good signs for Cotto. Pacquiao will give him good movement and at times apply pressure at a speed his sparring partners can't.

Soon he'll be saying he KO'ed Cotto just to get back at the guys who fired him lol.

Seriously though, I'm tired of hearing from him. I already know he was kicked out without being given a reason.

Figueroa or anybody from the Team Cotto will probably not tell the real reason.

this fight is so big that everybody around both these fighters are just trying to get in the cotto/pac soap opera. from now on im just gonna read when either cotto of pac speak im sick & tired of all the bs articles they post here lately. both fighters are training like hell so unless one of them falls & dies before nov.14th everything else is just bs period. to me el gato is a little bi..h & unprofessional. they sent him home, shut the f..k up pack ur sh.t & go home. it happens everyday in this sport for many reasons. u dont like it get over it & move on but dont go public trying to put down another fellow puerto rican like ur special or something. like hes so good he shouldnt be dismissed. he just got KO'd & hes spars for other fighters alot how good can he be...whos gonna give u work now that they know u like to run ur mouth? there are plenty of fighters out there that will do the same job or better & conduct themselves with more professionalism.

He needs to just get over that he got kicked out. It's happened before with Cotto and him obviously. All he says is I don't know why.

IF what Figueroa saying is true and no excuses were giving on why he got kicked out, it was very unprofessional. The man accepted go out there and help Cotto train and all of a sudden "just go home" with no reasons or explanations given is totally wrong.
Even after doing that (if it is true) to Figueroa (El Gato) he has been professional about his participation in Cotto's Camp, denying rumors that he knocked down Cotto while training and that Cotto is been well prepaired, showing class from his side. Others will be just talking trash.
I have followed Cotto's career and I'm a huge fan of his. The way Cotto approach Boxing business has always been very proffessional during his career but IF Figueroa was treated like described here it is truelly a failure from Cotto's team.

Treat people with respect so you can be respected, doesn't matter how big you are.

Once again IF this version is true. We are yet to hear the other side of the story.

He is just responding to a reportes question it's not like he held a press conference. this could had been avoided if he was given the reason why he was kicked out. IF this is all true.

That is exactly what need to happen either from Arum or anybody ob Cotto's Team.

No, he won't do that because he has already denied rumors going thru this website of him knocking down Cotto while training after he was kicked out. That showed some class.

IFwhat Figueroa has been saying is true if was him who was treated unprofesionally. How would you fell if you make arrangemnet to be away from your family for a certain period of time because you received a job offer and then that company fires you with no reason at all before your contract expires. I'll bet you will be pissed and probably say worst thing that El Gato has said, which the only thing that he has is that he was giving no reasons for him being fired. What is unprofessional about saying that.

Until we do not hear the other side of the version it won't be El Gato's fault of having reporters asking the question over and over again and making news out of it. He is not going on a press tour saying what happen he is just responding to questions. Gato might have got over it already but until this is not cleared out by Cotto's Camp, ever reporter that El Gato face will be asking the same questions.

I'm a huge Cotto fan and you can check my previous post if you have any doubts but i'm also fair and try not to be biased. IF what Figueroa saying is true it was Cotto's camp who was unprofesional on this matter and the man deserved and explanation.

Don't treat people like you don't want to be treated.
