Terrence Crawford should not really be on Teofimo Lopez's radar 'The fight does not in my opinion enhance Crawford''s resume enough, for him to pursue this fight at this stage of his career'.
Devin Haney is a more understandable and reachable target for Teofimo Lopez at this point in time 'Both Haney and Lopez have much to gain by beating each other, and they are already closer rivals. Similar generation, and stages of their careers'.
Terrence Crawford is not from their generation, and in terms of current greatness 'Crawford is above Haney and Lopez'.
Crawford is not aspiring to be involved in match ups, where he is the strong favourite to win 'Terrence Crawford needs to be compete in match ups, where universally he is not the favourite to win. That is the level of challenge, which Crawford in my opinion has a deep passion to pursue. Because this is the only way he is going to prove his greatness'.
Note: But in order for Crawford to navigated himself into a better position, to potentially earn this level of fight 'Crawford will have to become the Undisputed Champion at 154 pounds, only then will Canelo Alvarez consider Terrence Crawford as a fight which makes sense for him. Because at this point in time, Crawford has not really shown that he has the ability to compete in the Middle to Super Middle Weight Divisions. And to be a serious threat, enough to spark strong debates within the boxing community and beyond'.
Crawford should attempt to become the Undisputed Champion at 154 pounds, and then potentially take on a recent Canelo Alvarez opponent such as Jermell Charlo 'At 160 pounds, Middle Weight Divisions'.
If Terrence Crawford can beat Jermell Charlo in impressive fashion, then? That level of performance, will create intrigue and many talking points 'Crawford will be recognize as a legitimate threat towards Canelo Alvarez'.
To conclude: I personally believe that Canelo Alvarez would beat Terrence Crawford 'But in this posts, I am theorizing and chartering the possible moves it may take for Crawford to be perceived as a threat towards Alvarez. Currently right now, Terrence Crawford for sure is a great fighter, one of the best pound for pound fighters in the sport. But it is very difficult for people within the boxing community, to really make a strong case that Crawford is a legitimate threat as a competitor for Canelo Alvarez.
This perception will most likely completely alter if Terrence Crawford is able to first become a Undisputed Champion at 154 pounds, and then beat a top Middle to Super Middle Fighter etc.
