What an insular comment. You clearly don't know anything about life in Thailand, or Thai culture. Show some respect for the longest reigning mini-flyweight champion of all time, as he shows respect for the company that sponsored him out of poverty and changed his life.

Granted I think "Knockout CP Freshmart" probably was much more easier to remember/say for the rest of the boxing world than "Thammanoon Niyomtrong", not to mention it stuck out enough that even those not deeply following the lighter weights recall his name.

He has his own identity, he can easily praise who helped him out of poverty every time he fights - without giving up his identity. It looks ridiculous and like an umpire, I call em' as I see em'.

It's time to see how good Collazo really is, a win over Knockout CP Freshmart will establish that.
Then if Collazo can win 10 more fights after that, we'll know just how great of a champion he really is.
It's not an easy goal to obtain, but a goal that he can possibly obtain, because he appears to have exceptional fighting abilities.

You "call it like you see it" but don't bother educating yourself on WHY there are multiple guys with CP Freshmart fight names, or multiple guys with Kiatmuu9 fight names, or Banchamek, etc. As I said, insular, and honestly pretty pathetically so. I call it like I see it. Maybe you should also change your name. Why are there so many people named Richard? Don't they value their own unique identity? I guarantee you there are more people with the name Richard than with a fight name ending in CP Freshmart...

Go ahead and get your panties in a big twist over this. I already know about the history/culture but that doesn't change the fact that someone changing their name to a grocery store is absurd when all they need to do is mention the grocery store when they fight. That's my opinion If you can't handle it, renew your Prozac prescription and unbunch your panties.
