Since theres a lot of fanboys in here who care for somebody else's money....

Readung reports the fight did 17 mill gate and 650k ppv buys.....

Not bad, but do you think Amazon/DAZN expected more?

Also reading ufc did 850k +

I personally thought he would max at around 500k, if that. For a name not recognized like Berlanga and a bad card altogether, those are great numbers. Kinda sucks for fans wanting to see him take on Benavidez, because he'll want to keep fighting young inexperienced fighters with not so big names because he'll know he's gonna make good money regardless.

For as much as they hyped it, especially w/them playing up the MX/PR Rivalry, I think they expected more. Whole card was weak (unless you like showcase fights) so I guess it did better than expected.

Now imagine had Ginger had the balls to fight Benavidez........thos would've EASILY done 1 mill with the same undercard!

I'm also starting to get the whiff of Mayweather from Ginger, w/how Floyd was toward the end of his career (claiming he was going to ko his opp, yet not coming close).

Yes, if Ginger or his promoters want his PPV numbers to hit the 1 million mark, he'll have to fight Benavidez.

I think those a great numbers considering the card. With the exception of Danny Garcia, nobody knew much of the rest of the opponents. Lara is hit and miss with fight fans. He's been around, but not all his fights in the past were exactly fight friendly. For me, this was suppose to be an interesting/exciting fight on the card and it nearly put me to sleep.

They tried hard to hype up the PR-MX rivalry between the unknown Berlanga, but the problem there, Berlanga did not go on some crazy win streak against Mexicans to build up his own rivalry vs Mexicans brand. Nothing of the likes you saw with Tito, Cotto or for example Pacquiao. He literally came into the fight with nothing really. He's also a NYRican, so he doesn't exactly tap into the native Ricans who want to tune in from the island because they see themselves in him.

The main event was OKAY for a gimmicky opponent in Berlanga for Canelo to cash in another mega paycheck, but that's all Canelo wanted at the end of the day.

I'm surprised it did so well...... While some folks thought it would bomb and do under 250k I surely thought it would do much worse than what is being reported. If the event had flopped, Ginger would have been forced to pick a big name as his next rival.

The amount of money this fight generated will only convince Ginger that his notion of him being the shot caller is accurate. Sucks for the fans that want to see him fight Benavidez or even Bud. I find it hard to believe that Turki will offer Ginger over 100 million to fight Bud or over 150 million to fight Benavidez.

There's too many parties going on during Diez y Seis for it to do such low numbers. You have to expect at least 300k just off Gingers popularity amongst Mexicanos/Chicanos

Oh and I need to update my original post. Completely forgot to mention the Plant fight. That was the highlight fight of the event for me. While I don't think Plant being on the card made much a difference, the fight itself was the most memorable fight of the night. Looking forward to seeing Plant back in action.

Unsure if I believe either ppv number especially the UFCs.

I thought it was going to flop, those are decent numbers for Canelo vs an unknown fighter.
